we really liked this place. Spent four nights there. Loved the breakfast. Loved the amenities liked heated bathrooms floors, heated bench seat in the shower, etc. Room was great. The spa was nice and private. The grounds were kept very welll. Staff was nice and friendly. They made good restaurant suggestions. What could have been better?
I know these are small but they all added up to the slight departure from an excellent. When having breakfast and we poured our own coffee, water etc. when staff was walking around they could have offered to pour more. When we asked about traffic to LA and if there was a radio station to listen to, the answer was "I don't know". Of course they could have stretched here. When asked how to get to the nearest beach, we were told to go back to Santa Barbara when there was a closer beach.
But we would go back, that's for sure.

Room Tip: You can walk to 2-3 good restaurants.

We loved everything about the Santa Ynez Inn. The staff was welcoming and made us feel right at home. The grounds are beautiful and we enjoyed our evening wine & cheese (included, as is a delicious breakfast) on the lawn outside under the windmill. Location is great and all towns in the valley are easily accessible. We would recommend this for anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing getaway!

We spent two night at the Santa Ynez Inn recently--our first stay there, and we enjoyed it so much. It is a newly built small hotel, in bed and breakfast style, built and furnished in Victorian style. All of the comforts of a modern luxury hotel, with the charm of times gone by. We arrived in time for the cheese and wine in the afternoon, and were pleasantly surprised by the nice wine being served along with a lovely array of appetizers. When we were shown to our room, we were surprised to find it more comfortable than we would have imagined--air conditioned, roomy, music piped in but with volume control, a comfy large bed, desk, tv, balcony, dressing table, and the bathroom--large, with whirlpool tub, separate shower with steam feature, and everything marble, brass, and crystal. The service and food were exceptionally good, and we thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to visit with other guests but also to have privacy when we wished. The grounds are lovely, with a garden area and large fountain. We found this stay refreshing, romantic, and just what we were looking for!

Room Tip: There was a spa, workout room, and jacuzzi; however, we never got around to using them.

We stayed here one night and really enjoyed it. The Inn is nicely decorated with spacious rooms with high ceilings and large bathrooms. Hot and cold breakfast is included and is very good. Also included is a wine tasting from 5 to 6. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable about this area. We would definitely stay here again

We have stayed at the Santa Ynez Inn twice now. Each time was perfect. The Inn is a B&B on steroids. Gorgeous beautiful rooms (with super comfortable beds). Great attentive service. And here is the real deal. The Inn of course is not the cheapest. But if you factor in the afternoon wine and gourmet hors d'oeuvres (I figure this saved $40 on dinner); beautiful dessert when you get back to the Inn after dinner (saved another $10 off dinner); and a gourmet breakfast (probably another $40) it's the best deal in the Valley. And Rick, the manager, is the best. We won't stay anywhere else!

My business took me to the central coast this week. Staying two nights at the Santa Ynez Inn was the answer to a busy day. First of all the welcome you receive from the staff is heartwarming. The room was spacious and beautiful. The piped in music to your room made the atmosphere relaxing and enjoyable. Every detail in the design and decor was perfect. The bed and pillows gave the perfect nights sleep and the whirlpool tub was a welcome retreat after a busy day. In addition to all of this, the Inn offers a wonderful gourmet, complimentary breakfast each morning with a buffet of pastries, fruit and yogurt along with a menu to choose from an egg dish or waffles. Then at the end of your day, at five, is the wine and cheese reception, at which time the staff serves a variety of wines from the surrounding wineries. When you feel there could not be any more to enjoy, you are invited to the dining room at eight for the dessert and coffee. As you relax in front of the large fireplace you plan your next day's adventure. I am so glad I found this hidden gem and plan to return for a long weekend in the future.
