Selection of lunch items remains pretty much the same week after week. Some items are quite good and others are average. Nice desert selection.

Great food, friendly staff, beautiful dining area. (ask to sit on the patio or by a window.) Very good. Enjoyed the lady making the fajitas. Excellent Flan and Chili Colorado. Not a huge fan of the smoke filled casino, but I do look forward to the buffet here. Tasty. As for children... it's my understanding if you're a guest of the hotel, children are allowed to dine here. (I think the children are issued wrist bands and this let's the buffet know they're guest of the hotel.) But I don't think a non-guest can bring their children through the casino to dine.

I visit the Chumash Casino buffet a few times including around Christmas time-I was raised in the area and go with family and friends. It is a small buffet but it still offers a lot of tasty choices-salad bar, carving station, seafood, specialties and deserts. The service at your table is very good-they promptly bring you refills and clear your table. The seating area is comfy with booths and tables and an outdoor seating area.

Is it the best food on the Central Coast? Noooooo. But it is reasonably priced, offers tasty food, good service and comfortable seating. Does it qualify as a destination dining spot like Far Western Tavern or the Hitching Post? No. But if you are passing through Sovang or Santa Ynez and have never been to the Chumash Casino before it won't hurt to check it out.

P.S. There is a nonsmoking casino area with slot machines and dealers located just beyond the bathrooms on the second floor.

Received 2 Free adult lunch buffets from the hotel we stayed at which was also apart of the casino. It's a small buffet but had a lot of choices with a lot of flavor. We enjoyed it and having it free made it taste even better.
