I was totally not expecting this place to be so great. A former army post, this place delivers in all areas. Our flight was 5 hours late, and we were not happy. We should have arrived on San Francisco at 5:00, and by the time we got to Cavallo Point, it was nearly 11:00. The valet who greeted us was very welcoming as were the two guys at the front desk. We got upgraded for some reason, and we did not look a gift horse in the mouth. The valet showed us to our room, and it was like a little apartment. We had a king size bed in a large room with a whole other room attached with a full Brita water pitcher, many complimentary snacks, coffee, robes and slippers and beautiful classical music playing on the radio. The bathroom was very large, and the windows were easy to open for fresh air. The next morning we woke to a beautiful view with lots of sunshine. We had lunch on the long porch looking at the Golden Gate Bridge. The food was excellent, and the service was unobtrusive but efficient. They offered yoga and a two-hour hike that morning. The hike was challenging, and I'm so glad I did it. It was a good way to walk off the calories from breakfast. The spa was beautiful, but I didn't make use of it. There were many people walking their dogs and riding bicycles. It was just a beautiful experience overall.

And there we were - a group of 6 travel pros enjoying a long-awaited reunion. Other than the thoughtless partiers above us (which the hotel dealt with quickly), we found this to be the perfect choice for a quick getaway. Excellent service, outstanding breakfast, lively bar and thoughtfully appointed rooms. Morning yoga classes with the sun streaming through the windows of the little church followed by a walk through the headlands - what more do you need? It's just a short distance into Sausalito where you can hop onto a ferry into San Francisco, or take a taxi for approx $30 right into downtown San Fran. This is not a sprawling mega resort, but one that you will return to time and time again. Leave your curtains open and take advantage of the fabulous views of the Golden Gate Bridge at night. Bliss!

Room Tip: Go for the new units with a view, then leave your curtains open!

We stayed two nights. The room was decorated in modern style with limited view of the golden gate Bridge. The bed and shower head were great...as was the in room fireplace. Overall we enjoyed our stay as the staff from the front desk to the restaurant bar people were really nice.

No major complaints. One minor one was that breakfast on Monday was not good. Four in our party. Few people in the restaurant at 9 am..our orders were "hot food" items and they all came "cool"..and needed seasoning .... they all lacked taste....They were a C- at best.....

Prior days breakfasts were very good...possibly the main chef was off and someone filled in for him...

Overall a very limited dinner menu....but never had dinner so can't comment on the taste...

Beautiful location and short drive to the city..

Mike

Room Tip: Get a top floor room!!! We could hear the people above us walking each night....and it went into th...

It's obvious why the honeymooner crowd likes Cavallo Point, scenery, privacy, class, great food and service. I have done 2 conferences here now, and I can say with confidence I don't went to go anywhere else. Ever. The reason? They get it right, the first and every time. You have your clear instructions and agreement and sit back and enjoy the ride -- you are in good hands. Nothing goes wrong, or if there is a little twitch in the plan, it's not hard to fix. World class facility, food, rooms, MOST comfortable beds (( want one )), low key yet attentive. And our conference attendees could hardly scrape their jaws off the ground at the setting beneath the GG Bridge, a view I never get used to after 35 years. Don't get me started on the food -- top notch.

Green Features: People interested in doing the right thing for the environment should be rewarded with success.

Great get-away choice for city-person for short time stay during limited break. Me and my partner just stay for 1 night and was very satisfy and relax during the visit.
Heavenly environment with angel-like staff service, experiencing princess life during the stay. Love it!
We try the signature massage is really good and the Spa facilities and staff were great! Tea bar we have the oxygen and something grass drink, the latter one taste really good, a bit like green tea milkshake.
Free ride service to anywhere around you like, for dinner or tour is so convenient!
Would like to go back again for the next break!

Green Features: Have shuttle service from city is really convent to no-car travelers.

We recently stayed at Cavallo Point as part of a family reunion/memorial of a family member. The site is stunning; it's hard not to be impressed by the close-up view of the Golden Gate Bridge and SF Bay. The rooms have been nicely redone; the 2-bedroom suite with living area was the best. The spa is amazing; I had a great massage and relaxed in the heated outdoor pool. The dining options are very nice; food is exceptional, and you can eat outside if it's not too chilly. We rented a private room for the memorial service and another for dinner - everything was first-class. Staying at a place like this, with the spacious grounds, is more relaxing than a hotel with limited space. Can't wait to return sometime!

Green Features: I didn't notice specifically, but I noticed Cavallo Point has won awards in sustainability.
