We stayed for one night on our way to visiting Yosemite National Park. I have to say it was the most luxurious hotel we had ever stayed in. The room had the best view of the bay and San Francisco - absolutely right over the water. The beds were so comfortable with beautiful linens. Bathroom was gorgeous, great design, with porthole window. Bathrobes and slippers were provided. Wine and cheese in the afternoon and the most healthy, delicious breakfast buffet! We enjoyed the balcony and happened to be staying during a full moon. We saw a group of kayakers paddling right by our balcony taking a moonlight paddle. You could tell the staff was genuinely interested in being sure you enjoyed your stay with them. We would love to return again.

From the assistance beforehand to plan a great Sausalito experience for our anniversary to the waterfront room with a fireplace that took our blood pressure down a million points and gave us the best night of sleep for the trip. A morning run along the water followed by breakfast on the deck was a perfect ending to a great stay at the Inn

We booked one night on recommendation as a treat at the end of a 5 night San Fran stay. We booked a fireplace balcony room and were touched to find a half bottle of champagne and rose on arrival (little did I know at the time but my boyfriend was planning to propose and this was a gift from the hotel). Nice little touches such as the robes and binoculars added to the stay. The hotel offers a wine and cheese couple of hours which was lovely, good choices of both and a nice way to unwind. We had dinner at Spinnaker and upon return to the hotel, my boyfriend had asked the hotel to arrange champagne and a huge vase of my favourite flowers to add to his proposal on the balcony. The front desk team were lovely and helped wrap my flowers for a trip to Vegas! I hope to return every year on our anniversary (not likely but I can dream!!)

Room Tip: Do not scrimp book the balcony and fireplace for the views

My husband and I spent our wedding anniversary here and loved it. It is a splurge, rather pricey, but worth every penny. All of the rooms have beautiful views of San Francisco. Our room was a corner one, and the only thing disappointing about it was we couldn't see the view from the room, we had to go out to the private balcony. There is wine and cheese in the evening and you can have breakfast delivered to your room in the morning and go out on your deck and enjoy the breathtaking views while you sip your morning coffee. The bathroom was spacious and had an amazing deep soaking tub. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. Another huge benefit is you can take the ferry from San Francisco to this hotel which is right next to the ferry stop. There is no need to rent a car - you can use the ferry and the public train system to get anywhere. A definite return will be in our future.....

Stunning location, superb staff, gorgeous rooms with one of the finest views in the world,
We had visted Suasalito last year on holiday and spotted the lovely Inn above the tide when we got off the ferry, decided we wanted to return for our honeymoon this June
We were treated so well, a complimentary bottle of champagne in the room, stunning views, the most hearty fruit based breakfast you could imagine, a delighful cheese and wine buffet at 5.00pm setting you up for the evening.
All the staff were efficient and most of all friendly
If you get a chance to visit the Inn above the tide garb it with both hands

From the moment we walked into this charming hotel, we fell in love with it. It's rare that I stay in a hotel and I don't want to leave the room - however, this is one of those rare hotels. The room is fantastic, clean and nice amenities. Walk out onto the porch and the view of San Francisco is unbelievable. Wine & Cheese at 5pm, don't miss it.

The town of Sausalito is so picturesque and fun.

Stay at The Inn Above Tide, you won't regret it.

Stayed just one night, but it was absolutely worth it!
We are local, and one might question the value of staying so close to home, but the Inn Above Tide provides the ultimate get away environment. The rooms (we had a small one, but with a balcony) are spotless, well-lit and complete with robes, slippers, IPod doc, flat screen w/DVD, high-end toiletries, and a fragrant gardenia on the stone sink in the bathroom. The views are amazing - full panoramic - including all of San Francisco, Angel Island, and the Belvedere/Tiburon area. Yes, the ferry dock is adjacent, but the ships are generally quiet, do not come very often, and add to the charm.
We slept with the balcony door (screened) open. It was heaven to listen to the lapping SF Bay waters and smell the fresh salt air.
Spa services are available, but we did not partake on this trip.
The staff is unfailingly friendly and helpful.
Will we be back? Absolutely!

Room Tip: Make sure to get a room with a balcony.
