We were choosing hotel in Sausalito for very long time and we could not make our decision which one is the best choice. In the end we went for Hotel Sausalito because of good value for money, nice location and avaiable reviewes. And really!!It was CHARMING family hotel..Clean,quiet,comfortable and greatly located for the price with air condition,iPod dock and flat screen TV with DVD player, spacy bathroom.I can absolutly recomend this hotel especial if you like to relax in the Sausalito without any stress. There are many shops and restaurants in walking distance.Ferry to San Francisco stops comfortably few meters from the hotel. We definitly plan to be back.

After several previous stays we found the room to be very smelly, possibly from the bathhroom. the radio, i-pod player did not work, no wireless internet. Too expensive for what it is.

The Hotel Sausalito is just as great as the other reviewers here have said. We spent one night of our honeymoon here, and absolutely loved the place.

The location is fantastic, right in the middle of Sausalito, and within walking distance of many of the shops and restaurants. Our room looked out into a little park area, and we could see the bay and ferry depot just off to the side.

The room was very nice, with a plush, comfortable bed, and a spacious bathroom. The entire space just felt luxurious, very clean and upscale. Elsewhere in the hotel, there's a little rooftop deck area where you can sit and enjoy the complimentary apples or bottled water. Also included were coupons for free coffee and pastries in the morning at the cafe next door.

Overall, this was a very nice hotel, probably one of the best we've stayed in. The staff was very friendly, the room was exceptional, and the location was perfect. Definitely check this hotel out if you're traveling to Sausalito!

This hotel is such a fabulous find and really made our holiday to the San Francisco area.
We visited Sausalito 5 years ago and just loved the peaceful laid back atmosphere, quite a contrast to the hustle and bustle just across the bay.
The hotel is just so romantic. It has a French Riviera style. Our room (12) was beautifully decorated in soft lemon and the furnishings are really top quality, all made by local craftsmen. The bed was sooooooo comfortable and dressed with top quality linen. The bathroom had a great walk-in shower and was beautifully tiled. The room was cleaned daily with linen changed too.
The communal areas of the hotel are of equal high standard too, very well maintained. There is also a lovely little patio area, where you can sit outside and meet up with friends or just listen to the water trickling in the water feature. There isn't a bar or a lounge area, but to be quite honest, after sight seeing all day, we just wanted to chill in our lovely room.
There were just lovely little touches like toiletries in the room, a hugh bowl of apples and bottled water for you to help yourself to on the landing.
Finally, the most important thing was Billy (the owner) and the staff . They are all so friendly and made us feel very welcome and couldn't do enough for us.
We would love to return and have recommended the hotel to friends.

this is a lovely little hotel in a superb location right next door to the ferry berth.the room we were in was small but, beautifully furnished so if you have a lot of luggage it will be a bit crowded, but i suspect this hotel will be used a lot by weekenders travelling light so it will do just fine.you get vouchers for coffee and a cookie at the cafe downstairs.hope billy the manager is recovering well and hello to gail his daughter who is minding the ship.

The Hotel Sausalito is a great little inn to stay at on any visit to the San Francisco Bay Area. Located just across the Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco, there are a myriad of outdoor recreational opportunities including hiking and biking in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.

The Hotel is conveniently located next to the Sausalito Ferry Terminal for a quick 20-minute boat ride to the San Francisco Ferry Terminal (why drive? you'll never find parking). From there you can walk or hop the bus to Union Square or Fisherman's Wharf.

The rooms are tastefully appointed with luxurious bedding and a marble bathroom. Showers easily fit two and have luxurious large towels. Most rooms have a view out to the bay and the park across from the hotel. Rooms are quiet. There's a flatscreen tv with cable and a DVD player.

The concierge are very helpful and can point you in the direction of several fine restaurants in town. My faves are Arawan Thai and Sushi Ran, both within walking distance. There's also a coupe of good coffee shops and a three-screen movie theater in Sausalito as well.

My husband and I just returned from a trip to Ca, where we stayed at Hotel Sausalito. We loved it, we had a Queen With a Park View at a great rate of $195.00 For Sausalito and for our room it was a steal. We found out by overhearing the girl at the desk inform someone else that the Manager/Owner had suffered a heart attack at Christmas, and was at home recovering. The girl at the desk, after we shared our interest in the hotel's Manager, happened to be his daughter. This family run hotel is wonderful, and although we did not get to meet the Manager ourselves, he seems to do a great job. The rooms are fabulous, beautiful and comfortable. The staff were welcoming and went above and beyond to make our stay great. We saw Gail, the daughter every morning when we went to breakfast at the tasty cafe next door to the hotel, and we were greeted every morning with a warm genuine 'Good morning'. Every member of staff we encountered, were polite, welcoming and friendly. I can't even comprehend the reviews that are on here that reflect anything negative about this property.

We had a wonderful stay, and will stay here everytime we find ourselves in the Bay Area.

Thank you to Gail, Darius and Joseph for making our stay so enjoyable. (sorry if I am forgetting anyone)
