Owner description: Dutton-Goldfield is a partnership between grapegrower Steve Dutton and winemaker Dan Goldfield. Our mission is to produce world class wines that display the brightness of fruit, complexity, structure and balance that are reflective of our cool climate vineyards. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are the mainstays of our portfolio, along with small lots of Syrah, Zinfandel, Pinot Blanc and Gewurztraminer. Our tasting room is casual and comfortable, with outdoor seating on our patio in the summer, and in our cozy living room by the fireplace in the winter. We offer several tasting options, and are also happy to customize a special event for your group. We look forward to your visit!

I thought we were Pinot experts untill our private wine guide Soussan took us to David Hewitts tasting room in Sebastapool. One after the other he introduced us to some of the best wines on the planet. Davids love and passion for everything they do is very apparent. The wine experience at Dutton Goldfield w David & Soussan should be on your bucket list if you like big Pinots and the Russian River taste ! Please use this information discreetly as we all know what happens to hidden gems in the wine country.

We visited the winery on a very busy weekend (Winter Wineland) and it was somewhat crowded, but the servers were doing their best to serve everyone and still make the tasting educational and fun. I liked their Chardonnay & Pinot best, my husband also liked the Zinfandel. They had a small selection of souvenir items, including some very clever coasters with a wine theme. They have a nice patio, which might work for families with children under 21, but the event we were attending prohibits anyone under 21 (even infants) from attending, so I can't really comment on whether this might be appropriate for families. We will definitely visit again the next time we are in the area - but we usually only visit multiple tasting rooms during one of the wine festival events, where a single purchase allows access to over 100 tasting rooms. Because we were part of one of those events, I can't comment on whether their regular tastings, options and fees are reasonable. I can recommend the wines and the staff!

Our party of 6 stayed at the Vintner's Inn. Dutton Goldfield was hosting a wine testing for 2 hours. We enjoyed their Chardonnay and Pinot and David our host was very knowledgeable but most of all he became our friend. Both of the wines we tested were wonderful and even with our full schedule of testings we found time to go see David again and taste all of their wines. Every single wine he gave us to taste was better than the other. We were there for over one hour, sitting in front of the fire place, enjoying David's presentation. If you like Pinot and Chardonnay, you will love this winery. All of us became members of the wine club. This was surprisingly a great and unexpected find and the highlight of our trip.

Located in a mini strip mall type setting, it's not super impressive. The staff wasn't overly friendly but the wines were decent.

My party of 4 had reserved a "Pinot and Picnic" tasting for the middle of Oct., and when we arrived on the previously agreed upon day and time, we were told that our reservation wasn't in the computer... Jessie, the fantastic Hospitality Manager, who I had been exchanging emails with before our arrival, quickly made everything right. We were shown to a nice table on the patio, started with our wine tasting, and she herself hustled to the local store that provided our lunches, to retrieve them. We were treated with so much kindness and respect, despite the inconvenience we probably caused them, as a last minute private tasting that was "unscheduled".

We have already loved their Pinots for some time, and this further solidifies my good feelings about their wines and winery!
