Nice hotel, sort of rustic in appearance but it fits well in the surroundings. Close to Ronald Reagan Library and sum evening entertainment spots very close by. I would stay here again anytime I'm in the area.

Although the hotel was beautiful, and the breakfast was one of the best I've had at a hotel, the attitude of the staff, the lack of service, and the little things that show they care about the customers were severely lacking. There is no elevator. We were told that we should have known and requested a first floor room. There was no diet pop in the machine, no ice in the ice maker, no working batteries in the remote, no usable make-up mirror (it was dangling upside down), etc. We were made to feel that somehow these were all our fault or something. It took them over an hour to replace the batteries in the remote, and the person who came to get it after 45 minutes of waiting, rolled his eyes and got mad that my sister had given up and taken the remote downstairs. He went to the top of the stairs and waited for her to bring the remote back up to him, then he went back down to the front desk to look for batteries, because he hadn't even brought any up with him. The front desk clerk in the morning did take a percent off of our bill for customer dissatisfaction.

The hotel is an excellent buy in the area.
it is conveniently located and the included breakfast is very good.
The cook will make you most anything you can think of.
The Elephant bar right next to the hotel is a real benefit as the food is exceptional.
We stayed there 2 different times and the service was the same, very good.

Room Tip: The only negative thing I can say is the room AC would automatically change temperature in the middl...

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights while attending a wedding. The front desk clerks were helpful and friendly. They checked us in very quickly which I appreciated since we were running late to a rehearsal dinner. I also liked the cookies they have available for guests. Luckily we packed light since we were on the second floor and there are no elevators. I needed some extra shampoo and conditioner and clerks provided it for us. The rooms are large but dated. The beds are just okay. The plumbing noises from the other rooms were very annoying. Breakfast ends at 9 am every day but Sunday. The staff in the breakfast room were pretty grumpy. They have an omelet bar but it wasn't very good. Overall this is an average hotel with reasonable prices.

Our overall stay was... satisfactory. The rooms were OK. I believe we were suppose to have two queen size beds, but they seemed smaller than our queen at home... Bathroom needs a little work, not much. Overall it was a nice and clean place to stay. The Lobby and grounds were very nice and kept up. The pool was also very nice and the first I have come across at a hotel that actually had a way to lower a handicapped person into both the pool and spa! Didn't need to use it, but thought that was a very thoughtful feature to have. We were there for a sports tournament and the team really enjoyed the place. The whole team and a number of parents stayed here. The checkout time was posted at 12 noon with late checkout available. When I asked for a 1:30pm checkout so my daughter could take a shower after her last game and change, the latest the lady offered was 12:30pm... Really, only 30 minutes? That was not late checkout in my book.

We arrived exhausted after 16 days on the road. The desk staff was courteous but perfunctory - giving a well rehearsed spiel about where to eat, etc. And then they broke the news - we were on the 2nd floor (actually 1 1/2 stories up) and there was no elevator. They offered us assistance to get our heavy bags upstairs but again said in such an automatic way that it was clear they didn't expect us to say yes "assistance if you need it". We took them up on the offer. By now all we wanted to do was veg out in front of the T.V. The remote was in a cute little package that said "Fresh Remote". They could save themselves money by eliminating that step. The remote didn't work. The "fresh" batteries were dead. I called the front desk and after deciding he had no remote to replace it said he would send up security to work on the remote. We waited. And we waited. Remember that haze of exhaustion? After awhile I walked down the back stairs, cut through the beautiful courtyard and brought the remote to the front desk myself. They said that someone had just gone up to fix the remote. Yes, it seems he had and was visibly angry that I had gone downstairs. He came to the top of the stairs and waited while I climbed back up to hand him the remote, Too tired to do the story and 1/2 climb back up to the room without the remote, I sat down and waited while they searched the front desk for batteries (so apparently he was just going to take the remote and depart with it downstairs instead of bringing up batteries to begin with, but I saved him the trouble). This morning we came down for breakfast. The breakfast is really good - has an omelet bar with an excellent chef. But when we went back upstairs and wanted to use the pen to write something - the pen was empty - no ink chamber. It wasn't exhausted, there just was no cartridge at all in it. Tried to use the make-up mirror - it was set way above my head and was too loose to stay tilted where I could use it. The sink didn't drain well. The water pressure was good but the faucet goes in the opposite direction of where it is supposed to go. Overall, it's a beautiful hotel. The room in which we stayed was spacious and clean. The breakfast is great. The beds are comfortable. Just ask for a ground floor room or pack very light.

Room Tip: Remember, ask for a ground floor room.
