Stayed a week . Loacated 1 block off I-5 frwy, across from Del Mar Fairgrounds, a few blocks from the ocean. This is an older facility, but pretty well maintained, Furnishings in one bedroom condo were average, Nice to have two bathrooms. Very small kitchen with no room for groceries, but adequate for cooking facilities. Nice pool area and club house. You get clean towels each day if needed, and mid week cleaning by housekeeping.

There was no road noise or traffic from I-5, Very good restaurant (FISH MARKET) next door., Only complaint was the noise heard from other guests, We had ground floor unit, heard people above using bathroom above, walking around, moving chairs, etc. Some noise from other adjoining rooms. It wasn't that other guests were particularly loud, just there is liitle sound proofing between units. Nevertheless, we would stay again on a return visit.. Don't expect 5 star luxury, but very decent accomodations for the price.

This is a time share we got on a RCI exchange. We were there for a week in a one bedroom. The unit was older but nice for what you will pay for in the location. It is less then 1 mile for the beach. If you were to rent it, it would be in th $1400-2000 range. The club house / gameroom has been remodled (Pool table, ping pong, plasma TV and viedo games). There is a nice pool, kids pool and hot tub. Also BBQ gas grills in the pool area. The grounds are very nice. Hair Saloon and two resturants on the property. More resturants, movie theather, store and other conveniances less then a mile. It is close to al area atractions. The only down side is the kitchens. They are very small, all but the two bedroom have Kitchenettes (two burner stove, microwaves, dishwasher and a small fridge). There s no oven. Is fully stocked with dishies and pots & pans. Also has a toster and coffie maker.

We stayed here from November 7 thru until November13 as a RCI week. We had a very nice one bedroomed unit overlooking the pool. We would imagine it was one of the refurbished units as everything looked fairly new, not dated as some reviewers have said. Two bathrooms left the two of us spoilt for choice. The kitchen was well equipped and as Albertsons Supermarket was less than a mile away it was well used. The pool was lovely and warm and the surrounding areas were very clean with plenty of loungers, although the resort didn't seem to have many people booked in during our week. We arrived early around midday as we had driven from Borrego Springs but the reception desk said our room wouldn't be ready until 3 pm, despite there obviously being few guests. As we knew the places we wanted to go in the San Diego area we didn't use the reception or tours desk.
One of the best things about the resort is it is close to both I5 and US101 so heading into San Diego, La Jolla or heading north up the coast was very easy. For anyone staying here without a car the Coaster train was within walking distance which would take you into the city to connect with the trolley. There were restaurants nearby and in Del Mar, and we didn't use the bar restaurant which was within the complex. One downside fo my wife was the relatively expensive laundry, in comparison with a totally free facility we had enjoyed in Borrego Springs.
To sum it was an enjoyable stay in a nice resort.

We stayed at this resort for a week (Oct. 2008) through an RCI banked week which we had to use.

This resort seems to have the ability to be really good, but some things to make it so in our opinion.

First the good things:
1. The location of this resort is great for visiting the San Diego area. It is right off the freeway (I-5) and close to the beach and coastal drive as well. All San Diego activities we were able to reach in 30 minutes or less including traffic time, so great for this.

2. The resort was clean in the rooms and common areas. Unlike many timeshares, they cleaned the room/unit daily if you wanted.

3. The pool/hot tub/rec room area were all pretty nice. They had a fire pit and decent gas grills to use to cook a few meals there.

4. The units were quiet when inside and at no time did the area or resort feel unsafe or unsecure.

5. The check in/check out was fast and quick.

6. Though we did not eat at this restaurant due to cost, the resort shares a parking lot with a fancy restaurant. It was interesting to look in the parking lot every night as there was also a wide variety of fancy cars such as rolls royce, tons of BMW's, etc.

The Not So Good:
1. The unit ammenties/furnishings were workable but not the utmost in comfort and luxury as their slogan suggests. The TV reception in the units was questionable at best and was often snowy. The TV sets themselves were well past their prime, when considering even standard technology today.

2. The furniture in the units were not very comfortable with the exception of the dining table. The fridge in the unit is smaller and didn't keep milk/soda very cold at all. There was no freezer to speak of. There is also no oven in the units.

3. The resort staff was not very helpful or even around. We went to the orientation meeting and the presenters (2 of them) couldn't answer basic questions about the resort/area when asked from various people. I knew more answers from looking at things on tripadvisor and looking at the brochures in the lobby. There were only 2 resort sponsered events and they were not that great or family friendly it seemed. One was to mexico and one to LA - no others in the San Diego area.

4. The units do not have a washer/dryer and not too many resorts we have gone to in the past charge $3.00/load for laundry.

5. The internet at the resort did not work in the rooms though they claim it did. The wireless interent worked in the common areas such as the pool area, but no internet in the rooms.

That is it in a nut shell. The resort is not bad - it is clean, safe, secure, has a nice pool, and is in a great location. The units are in need of update (everything from furniture to TV's to wireless communication technologies. Bottom line is this is a workable resort, but clearly does not have the luxury and ammenities of many other RCI resorts or gold crown resorts visited in the past. If coming to this area again, we would probably look to find a resort with all the ammenties we like, but......

We stayed at the Winner's Circle for 7 nights in early October. We are timeshare owners there, but hadn't stayed there since 2006. They have built a new clubhouse which has a big screen tv, a pool table, books you can check out, boardgames to use. There is also a ping pong table outside of the clubhouse. The pool is heated and nice, warm enough that I even got in and swam. Hot tub is very nice too. Pool deck furnishings are all new and very comfortable and there is a nice firepit with furniture around it as well. Room was clean and the beds are very comfortable. I slept like I was at home. Staff was great. Only one slight problem, the drain in the bathtub would not close. I told the front desk, and there was someone up to fix it in less than 15 minutes. It only took about 30 minutes for it to be fixed. I appreciated the fact that they were so quick about it, because it didn't interfere with our time to have fun. Laundry facilities are available and I used it twice. Machines worked well. I did two loads of wash at one time, but only had enough change left for 1 dryer and everything still was dry. That was nice. We had a party of 3 (2 adults and a 6 year old). We had guests (my mother-in-law, my 2 older sons and my nephew) come by to visit and it was no problem to get them a parking pass to park in the lot. I would recommend the Winner's Circle to anyone. It's about 2 blocks off of I-5, but can't hear any noise from the freeway. Near the Del Mar Racetrack (for the fair, races, and Halloween haunted houses); mini-golf; the Fish Market Restaurant; and close to 13th Street Beach in Del Mar (about 5 minute drive).

We have been visiting SanDiego for the past 10 years. We usually rent a house on the boardwalk at Mission Beach.
This year we decided to stay at the Winners Circle Resort and to do some Surfing. We have a family of 7 ranging in years from our oldest son,27 to our youngest daughter 13. We found the winners circle a great location. We would get up in the morning and drive the PCH between Solana and Oceanside and just pick a beach that looked to have some great rides.

We found the Winners Circle to be a great place to relax and barbeque after a day at the beach. The staff was friendly. We had a courtyard room that allowed excellent access to the pool and barbeque area's. They also have a great firepit to make smores or roast weenies in the evening. A word to the wise, the pool area and firepit close at 10:00pm. it kind of nice, people retire to their room or patios at that time to enjoy a there favorite blend.

Parking was kind of a hassle but we always found a place. There are grocery stores near by just off the 5 that made it convenient and affordible to eat.

We had such a good time that we have already rented the same unit for 2009.

The Winner's Circle Resort looks old and smelled moldy. The halls had the heavy smell of Lysol disinfectant. My two teenage sons gagged every time we had to go through the hall to the outside door. The carpets were dirty and in need of replacing.
We stayed on the second floor in room 241.It was a one bedroom with a hide-a-bed in the living room and one bathroom for 4 people. When we turned on the heating, the room ended up smelling musty. We kept the sliding doors open to allow fresh air in, as we were all getting stuffy noses and sore throats. The sliding doors were open when we arrived, that should have clued us into the fact the air quality was not good in the room.
There were not enough blankets and when we requested more, we only got one blanket. The T.V. did not get good reception.
The good points about this place are the reception area was open 24 hours and looked clean and up-to date when we walked in. The club house is updated with a new T.V. and has a pool table. The pool outside is clean and there is a ping pong table outside. The gas bar-b-ques needs up dating. The grounds are kept up and look nice.
We do not recommend staying here.
