We decided that prior to our "real" 30th anniversary bash, we would spend the weekend someplace nice and cozy, Sonoma. There are plenty of places to stay in wine country, but our choice was the MacArthur Place. We couldn't have been happier! Knowing that we were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary, they surprised us with a bottle of champange and chocolates, very nice.

The staff were excellent, from reservations to front desk. They made us feel welcome and did everything that could be asked of a property of this caliber. We stayed in a suite complete with fireplace and HUGE spa bath. Great time at a great place!!

Room Tip: Request a stay at the back of the property which abuts a high school. If you are staying the weeken...

This is a wonderful place for a weekend getaway. A night here seems as if I was gone for a week. Refreshed, relaxed and well taken care of. When I made the booking, Bunky was a wonderful help and welcomed us in advance with special goodies. The breakfast is wonderful and again Bunky at the front desk makes this a rare getaway as you are treated like royalty!

MacArthur Place lived up to all of the great reviews. The hotel staff was very friendly and inviting. The hotel grounds were cute and quiet. We even got upgraded to a King Suite for our stay. It was a beautiful room and a wonderful surprise. The wine and cheese hour was a nice touch - they had four different wines to taste and some nice local cheeses. And the spa was a great experience. They really took care of us and made sure we got what we wanted. A return to this wonderful hotel is definitely in the future.

My wife and I were celebrating our 45th year together (yes, we are married). From checking in at reception to the moment we departed, it was clear that the staff was there for only one reason. To ensure we were provided the very best service possible.

I don't mean good service, I MEAN INCREDIBLE SERVICE.

Had some special needs. Order flowers for our room and ordered more for our dining later in the night. The Saddles restaurant was fantastic. We would go there for dinner anytime.

Rooms were beautiful and kept spotless.
EVERYTHING was just like one would expect

We had a wonderful brief trip to Sonoma and were so
pleased with this resort. Every aspect from the room, the grounds, the breakfast, the bed, and most of all the service. We will return as soon as we drink all the wine we bought. Special thanks to Bunky.

We loved everything about MacArthur place. The staff was amazing and met our every need. We had massages at the onsite spa too which were excellent. Sonoma Square is only a few blocks away so a wide array of restaurants, shops and wine tasting is a leisurely walk or bike ride away!

My spouse and I just returned from a week long stay at MacArthur Place. Overall, it was a very lovely experience. We stayed in a cabana suite which was spacious with a large outside space. Unfortunately, at this time of year, it was too cold to sit outside and enjoy it. Given the cost of this particular room, we were especially disappointed that we were unable to use the outside shower, lounges, etc. The room had a nice large whirlpool tub and a large shower. We had a fire every night which was a cozy way to end the day. Overall, it was a great room, no complaints. Being able to walk to the plaza was an added bonus. There are many great restaurant choices just 10 to 15 minutes away. The complimentary wine tasting from 5 to 6 was great, nice white and red choices. The workout room was small with only one treadmill and one elliptical machine. Also, the work-out room wasn't maintained well, the water jug was empty for two days and there were only a couple of towels available. The machines were in good shape. It was too cold to use the pool or outside hot tub, but they both looked great. For the cost of the stay, we were a little disappointed by the breakfast buffet. The fruit, muffins, and scones were delicious but we felt there should have been additional complimentary options like scrambled eggs. However, the servers provide you with a menu in the hopes that you purchase eggs, pancakes, etc. Nancy, the concierge, was extremely helpful in helping us plan on day trips. We ventured to Napa, Sonoma, and highway 1. Every staff member we encountered was kind and attentive. We would definitely stay here again.
