This was our last tasting of our trip. Stopped on our way out of town without an appt. it was a Friday morning so it wasn't really a problem. Two other groups came while we were there but they handled it all very smoothly. I was specifically wanting to see the dogs, but they weren't there until we almost ready to leave. They were such a joy! They had all just been swimming and they were soaking wet and kinda dirty but we didn't care. We were missing our lab terribly so it was so fun to see and play with them briefly.
Oh, and the wine was pretty good too! We purchased some of the three lab cab, it actually was our favorite. The grounds were really nice and would be great for picnic lunches.

3 Dogs that are super petable (it's a word), Yard Games, Picnic Tables, Gardens, Fields of Vines, and Great Wine! Plan to come here near the end of your day and leave yourself a hour or so. Skip the tasting, buy a bottle of 3 Lab Cab and have dinner while playing Baggo or Bocci Ball or Horseshoes. The staff here is also so very nice and you can tell they love the company.

Larson's Family Winery in Sonoma is unique in their minimalist approach to atmosphere, but in the best possible way! Tucked away down a nearly hidden side road is one of the most appealing and enjoyable wine tasting experiences in all of North America. On the grounds of a ranch that used to host the Sonoma Rodeo, Larson's offers a tasty selection of wines (tending more towards the sweet/semi-sweet whites, but with two top level reds: 3 lab cab and the Millerick Road Zinfandel). The wines are excellent, tastings are inexpensive, pours are generous, and the indoor outdoor feel of tasting in a remodeled barn is only an appetizer. Once you buy a bottle, or join (because trust me, you will want to do both), step outside into the most disarming, park-like setting a winery could offer. Pretentious and upscale don't exist at Larson's. In their place are a covered eating area, bocce ball, corn hole, horseshoes, 3 lovable family labs that roam the grounds, and a HUGE grass lawn where patrons can picnic with whatever food they like. This is THE winery for an afternoon of enjoyment. Families, large parties, groups of friends, and romantic couples can all be found strewn across the lawn enjoying whiling away afternoons in the warmth of the Sonoma sun. With a setting and atmosphere as picture perfect as Larson's, one visit and you will be too!

This is a great place in Sonoma for a wine tasting and family/friends fun day. They have some great wines for tasting, and a nice picnic area where you can bring a lunch. Horseshoes, Bocce, and plenty of room for kids to run and play. Weekdays is no problems, but fills fast on weekends. Make a reservation if you want a picnic table.

Really great family winery and excellent wines. Would've stayed here all day if we weren't with a group that was ready to move on.
