“They get it”
Reviewed 3 June 2012

The El Pueblo is ideal. We took a quick road trip to the quiet wine country...Sonoma. Everyone's right, it's very expensive to stay in this area. El Pueblo had very reasonable rates. I really wanted a room with a patio or deck so I could sit outside. I searched on line and saw their gardens. The nice woman that answered the phone recommended a "Sonoma" room. It was perfect! We were downstairs and had a private patio to sit on and enjoy our coffee or wine in the perfectly kept grounds. There is a large fountain that blocks out all street noise. The room was large and very clean. The gardens are mature and very restful with paths and benches to sit and just enjoy. The pool area has a nice cabana to sit and visit with family. My sister and hubby joined us for one night. They had a room across the court yard. It was smaller and had no balcony or patio. They have a better than average continental breakfast. Fresh fruit, healthy cereals, toast and impossible to peel eggs. The teas and coffee are very good. We loved this place so much that we spent more time there than we planned. But lots to do near by in charming Sonoma. Walk the plaza!

Room Tip: Spend just a little more to get a Sonoma room with a balcony or private patio.

Sonoma is expensive and The El Pueblo is reasonable for the area. A short drive or an energetic walk to the square, location is good. Rooms are comfortable and the ceiling fan helps, beds are nice and we had a great nights sleep. Front desk is very personable and the breakfast is plentiful and enjoyable. Would stay again when we revisit the area. Grounds are immaculate! Poll looked nice and they also have a fitness room with a couple of machines. Computer and printer in the main lobby

No reservation - stopped at the first motel we came across and kept our fingers crossed. First surprise was a very reasonable rate and a very friendly, accommodating staff. The grounds are beautiful and exquisitely clean; the pool and spa were immaculate (and private). Our room was large, very clean and very comfortable - had all the amenities we could want. Had a very nice continental breakfast early in the morning. Couldn't have asked for more. We'll definitely go back!

Room Tip: Rooms in the back row have a view of only the landscaped islands.

Sonoma is the best! Sunny, full of flavors, wellcoming and charming. We rent bikes right in the hotel and went to the wine tastings. The room was clean and cosy, the garden outside the room was beautiful. There was silent and quiet.

I stayed at El Pueblo Inn this past weekend and was very impressed. The grounds are just bursting with flowers and greenery, all of which is clearly tended to with a gentle hand. The rooms are clean and spacious and the front desk couldn't be more helpful.
The hotel isn't in the center of town, but it is a lovely oasis and just a five minute drive from the main square.

We stopped in on a Saturday evening & got the last room available & took it, sight unseen. We were pleasantly surprised - nice, clean adobe brick style rooms. Great rate, beautiful, immaculate grounds, nice pool area, walk to town, and a really fine continental breakfast included. We will stay here again.

I had high hopes for El Pueblo after reading the reviews. The room was fine and it was a great deal with the Girls Getaway Weekend rate. However, the staff was not very helpful about places in the area and have charged too much on my credit card. When I pointed this out they said, repeatedly "oh, that is just how much is authorized it will release the rest in 5-10 business days." I explained that I paid the majority of the charge with a deposit and according to all of the information I had, I only owed $10.00. However, there was two $30.00 charges on my card that were "authorized." So I had to leave, hoping they will be released and not actually charged because I couldn't stand there and argue about math anymore. I had a flight to catch.
