We ate at the Maya for their Happy Hour last Friday, 7/18. The pork sliders were fantastic, the margarita homemade, and nachos yummy. I ate lunch there last November and found it a bit pricey, but the happy hour is a home run!

Don't miss the sangria to wash down the good food. Only down side is it is quite noisy but worth a visit.

We were visiting family in Sonoma area. They had heard good things about this restaurant and we made reservations for party of 6. Some in party ordered drinks before dinner. One member ordered a Bud Light. Waiter took the order but returned and said they were out of Bud Light. He then said he would take a regular Bud. The waiter brought a Coors and our party member asked waiter to take it back as that was not acceptable. Waiter did not apologize for the errors. After one half hour after food orders were taken, food was not served. We repeatedly tried to get waiter to come back to the table but he avoided eye contact and continued to serve people that had come in after us. We called the manager over to the table and told him we were disappointed in the speed of the service. He did not apologize and just said "I know". About 10 minutes after that conversation, one of our party was able to get the waiter to come over to the table. She told him to just bring our check for the drinks ordered as we wanted to leave. He went to the kitchen and brought her plate only. Five minutes later, he brought one more plate out, but no one at our table had ordered that item. He returned another 15 minutes later with the remaining plates of food and asked each member in our party what they had ordered,. We finally all received our orders about 70 minutes after we had arrived in the restaurant. The manager came over and asked how everything was. One party member told him that we shouldn't have to pay based upon this level of service. The food was good but everyone in our party was disgusted by the service - our evening had been spoiled. Still no apologies from the waiter nor the manager, nor any explanation as to why this had occurred. When the bill finally came, we were charged full price on all food and drink PLUS an automatic 18% gratuity. One of our party members went up to the bar to speak with the manager and he re-did the bill comping all the food. This was a fair resolution but all in our party agreed that we will never return again.

My husband and I went here for dinner. We used to live in San Jose (now in Sonoma) and have eaten a lot of good Mexican food. I rate all Mexican restaurants by how good their chicken tacos are. Maya just didn't cut it for me. The chicken was dry and without taste. My husband had the veggie burrito which was the largest burrito I have ever seen. He thought it was quite good. If you're looking for hot salsa for your chips, this place isn't it. It's mild...gringo mild. If you're looking for good Mexican food, there are plenty of taco joints driving towards the north of town towards Boyes Hot Springs.

We come here often for their happy hour drinks and food. The "really good nachos" are the best and the spicy pumpkin seeds are perfect with a happy hour margarita! Great service and food, you will not be disappointed :)
