We offer a unique variety of fresh local and imported seafood specials daily including whole fish. The seafood selections on our menu are complimented by a variety of meat dishes ranging from the popular Pork Tenderloin stuffed with almonds, olives and figs to the, hard to find, Tripe Porto Style. Many of these dishes come steaming hot out of the wood-burning oven and fill the dining room with the exotic aromas of true Mediterranean cuisine. The menu reflects the commitment of Chef and Owner Manuel Azevedo to creating the unique culinary delights of his native Portugal and its neighbors. The title of another review of this restaurant states "Superb" I'll definitely second that. We ate at LaSalette our first evening in Sonoma. It was by far the best meal we had during our stay 5 day stay.

I have been to this fabulous place a few times now, and every time I left with a happy/satisfied/content feeling. Every item in this restaurant sounds so delicious, their culinary specialty is Portuguese based, particularly the seafoods. Love the ambience. Service is fantastic. I would definitely go back with my husband. Don't miss the desserts!

Strolling around Sonoma's town square my brother- and sister-in-law had long been curious about this place and suggested we be adventuresome. Perfect choice!

The offerings are ecclectic but do center on Portuguese (and some Brazilian) traditional dishes. We took our time, experimenting first with a tri-plate of baby octopus, blood sausage and escargot, the sauces for the octopus and snails seasoned for the Portuguese palate. So it's not like Spanish or French or South American but very unique and pungent, sometimes with a bit of heat. We adjusted our senses and thoroughly enjoyed the flavors and textures.

For the entree I wanted something typical so went the caldeirada, a traditional seafood stew with a somewhat spicy red broth based with lobster stock. It's a hands-on dish, so I was glad to have sat down in a tee-shirt! (They'll bring you all the warmed wet napkins you need.) All tasted and we all loved that.

My brother-in-law ordered Feijoada Completa, a traditional Brazilian plate with a mix of meats, rice and black beans, absolutely scrumptious! His wife chose the scallops over pasta, also very tasty and satisfying.

There was a 3-part chocolate dessert that turned out to be too irrestible, so we gave in. You might as well, too!

If you have wine with your meal, be sure it'll stand up to the full-flavored dishes you're bound to pair it with.

The table staff were helpful, patient and fun. Eat outside if you can, but don't neglect to peak inside at the wood fired oven, in which most of the food is cooked. This place is the real thing.

This is one of our goto restaurants when we are in the Sonoma Valley. In an alleyway off the main square, it can be missed, but if you want great Portuguese inspired food, this is the place to go.
We had the carrot and ginger soup and the asparagus salad (topped with an egg and prosciutto). Dinner was day boat scallops, one prepared as a pasta and the other on a seasoned polenta which was seasoned with something we couldn't identify, but was amazing. Dessert was a selection of sorbets unlike any you've ever tasted. They have a nice selection of Portuguese wines which we sometime opt for, but this time we had an Albarino from the Russian River (Goridion Knot) which was a perfect accompaniment to our meal. The staff is always friendly and helpful. If the weather is nice, eat outside. Looking forward for our visit.

This is a good restaurant, but it is not the best I've tried in sonoma. Some of the dishes are very aggressive in taste. For example, the sausage was over-smoked, the escargot was too smoky and salty, More aggressive than similar dishes in Portugal and Brazil.

On the other hand, the asparagus salad was delicious, as was the arroz valenciana.

On the whole, this is a good restaurant, but again, not the best in sonoma. I would still recommend this restaurant.

BTW, there's free parking in the rear.
