Description: Fresh, Inventive Mediterranean and Iberian Cuisine in the heart of the Sonoma Valley Wine Country. Seafood and Portuguese Cuisine are our specialties. We offer a unique variety of fresh local and imported seafood specials daily including whole fish. The seafood selections on our menu are complimented by a variety of meat dishes ranging from the popular Pork Tenderloin stuffed with almonds, olives and figs to the, hard to find, Tripe Porto Style. Many of these dishes come steaming hot out of the wood-burning oven and fill the dining room with the exotic aromas of true Mediterranean cuisine. The menu reflects the commitment of Chef and Owner Manuel Azevedo to creating the unique culinary delights of his native Portugal and its neighbors. LaSalette Restaurant is proudly one of Zagat Surveys top rated restaurants in Sonoma. See our web site for the complete menu and a look inside our dining room, which features an open kitchen and decor that sends you back in time to old Lisbon.

We recently had lunch at LaSalette in Sonoma. My husband had paella and I had the pan fried fish. Both were excellent and it was such fun watching them being prepared in the open wood fired oven. Wish we lived closer so we could visit more often!

We got outside seating. I ordered a native beer called Xingu black beer which wasnt half bad. When she came to the table we each got a "shot" of a tomato water with olive oil and some bits of vegetables which was awesome. The appetizer we ordered were crab crepes. The sauce on this was very good as was the filing inside. Wife ordered the pork tenderloin and the meat was very tender and flavorful. I ordered the Brazilian national dish called Feijoada which had beef, pork, smoked sausage and black beans. This was absolutely delicious. There is a reason this is ranked #1 restaurant in Sonoma!

Service and Ambience were very good. Attentive and not pretentious.

Food was excellent and preparation perfect. Excellent chef!

First Coure..The scallops dusted in a finely ground chorizo were perfectly cooked. The white anchovies and small octopus were flavorful and went together.

Main..The sea bass was crisply wood oven baked and tasty. The fisherman's stew was very good with small seared potatoes in a lobster, safron, chorizo sauce with succulent prawns, mussels, clams and a small amount of white fish.

Dessert..A Caramel trio of creme broulee; caramel pecan ice cream and warm apples with caramel praline. And a Chocolate trio of mousse, souffle and a rich chocolate ice cream.

Coffee..Very good latte and expresso for a restaurant.

Wine..Portuguese house vino Verde and an alberino from Russian River.

We have enjoyed these top sonoma restaurants...Applewood Inn, the Farmhouse Inn and others...We enjoyed the LaSallette the most.

Thank you, Obrigado....to you owner and chef Mr Manuel Azevedo.

Our starter was amazing, Serrano Redondo-Ham, Linguiça-Sausage and Polvinhos-Baby Octopus followed by our main, Pacific wild caught blue nose sea bass, wood oven roasted, on a bed of grilled yellow corn with collard greens and molhu cru. Best meal I've had in a long time. Can definitely recommend this authentic Portuguese restaurant in Sonoma.
