Had a delicious and leisurely breakfast on Sunday morning -- you can choose from buffet or a la carte. A nice was to start the day.

First, this is a nice restaurant, but I rated it "average" for the area. We have had breakfast/brunch here many times and enjoyed the experience though the cost of menu items is higher than average for the area. Recently had dinner here and, again, the cost of food and wine is higher, considering quality, than other more interesting restaurants in the area. The pros: Wait staff and very friendly, attentive, and casual. The food is well prepared. The wine selection is excellent. The room is attractive and not exceptionally noisy. The cons: The wine list is quite expensive especially the wines-by-the-glass. The wine steward is aggressive with his "service" and pushes patrons to purchase more expensive wine that originally ordered. Some of the menu items are small (e.g., the wedge salad) consider the cost ($12 for the wedge). We probably won't be back considering all the options in the area in this price range.

The meal at this restaurant couldn't have been better. A nice mix of seafood and meat dishes offered. My food was expertly prepared. The servings were very generous. I'll go back!

On our last night in Sonoma we ate here (the restaurant with The Lodge at Sonoma). There were 6 of us and what I appreciated before we ever got started was our server Desiree had saved a private room for us. The restaurant wasn't crowded but with 6 of us and two older (mid 70s) it is nice to be able to hear everyone. Additionally we were seated at a round table. A big plus all the way around!

We started off with wines and bubbly. Of course this restaurant features Sonoma area wines - why not? They are delicious!

We ordered the following: Shrimp & Grits, Petaluma Chicken, Margarita Pizza and White Pizza, Salmon & Quinoa, Butternut Squash Soup, and Oysters and Mussels. Only one person was disappointed in their meal and that was our friend who ordered mussels. Not quite sure what she didn't like - maybe east coast versus west coast mussels? I don't know.

We ended our meal by sharing the warm chocolate chip cookie and ice cream. It comes with a tiny glass of milk! It was yummy

When we have stayed at the Lodge before we have eaten here and our friends ate several breakfasts here this visit and were delighted. We split the billl 3 ways so I think it was reasonable - not too pricey.

We will return - no doubt. We think it's great.

Had breakfast here and it was yummy. Appreciated that they served breakfast late, which suited our situation. The lemon mascarpone that came with the french toast was awesome. The others enjoyed their oatmeal, bacon, ham, and eggs as well. Restaurant has a wine-country feel.

We did not eat other meals in Carneros Bistro, but we had an event at The Lodge with catered food that was all outstanding, and my guess is dinner here would be great. Maybe on our next trip.
