My girlfriend and I stayed here for our anniversary back in September. It did not disappoint; in fact, it exceeded expectations. The property itself is absolutely beautiful. The owners, Astrid and Dan, have put over seven years of work into it, and it certainly shows. We were able to spend our early mornings sitting on the porch, sipping tea and watching the hummingbirds in the garden. We were also walking distance from downtown Sonora, which is a fun, small town up in California's gold country.

If you're wondering whether or not you would enjoy staying here, the answer is simple: yes, you absolutely will.

Owners friendly and nice. Place very beautiful. Wonderful breakfast. Homemade organic food!!
Very romantic inside and outside.
Every second Saturday night in the Main Street they have music and stores are open. Have cookies and treats.
Very good wines and cheeses
I definitely recommend it.
I will for sure go back with family.

Ideally located up the hill from historic downtown Sonora (we walked to dinner and back!) this was the perfect place from which to explore the area. Astrid & Danny were the perfect hosts, pleasant and informative (thanks for the tips) and not intrusive. My boyfriend and I don't usually like to stay in B&B's because we're not very social, especially in the morning, so we were delighted with the option to have breakfast brought to our room. The food was delicious and artfully presented. The room was luxurious, spotless, and had all the amenities we could wish for. The gardens, filled with fountains, roses, and lots of seating areas, were very inviting. Altogether a wonderful experience, one we recommend highly.

My wife and I stayed two nights at Danny and Astrid's B&B. We were first time visitors to the Sonora area here to attend a wedding. When we met Astrid and got a tour of the property and our accommodations I was pleasantly surprised to see that the rooms and property are just as they appear in the pictures on their website. No photo shop here. Astrid and Danny make you feel very comfortable and are very gracious host. They can offer a suggestion for just about anything from restaurants, day trips, etc. The morning breakfast are excellent. I wish we could have stayed longer. The next time we come back to this area we will definitely stay at the Baretta Gardens Inn.

Our reservations had been lost by another hotel we were going to check into near Yosemite NP. So we called Barretta Gardens Inn as we were approaching Sonora and they had one room left. They were gracious during checkin and Daniel recommended an Italian restaurant in downtown Sonora. The restaurant was good and many of the locals were there. At the B&B the breakfast was served on the screened porch and you can watch the birds coming to the fountain while you eat. This B&B is relaxing and quiet. Astrid and Daniel are friendly and helpful. I would recommend this B&B. The B&B is set in a neighborhood and Astrid gave good directions so we had no trouble locating the inn.
