“Not so Good Experience”

My complain is not much on the hotel , but on their shuttle bus. Me and several Hotel guests waited at the SFO Hotel Shuttle curb for an hour and a half in a cold night June 29th. These included guests from Travelodge, Grosvenors and Holiday Inn Express, and another hotel I can't remember. The shuttle, waited on one end of the curb, but did not even stop to see if there are other passengers waiting on the other side. Very poor service.
At theh otel, I was given a key that did not open the door, and I have to call them again and a maintenance guy came , and have to fix the lock before I can come in. That was a terrible travel experience considering I just arrived from a 14 hour flight.

Room Tip: A McDonald store is located next to the hotel. And though I don't eat fast food, it is a welcome...

Thank you for you review and we appreciate your business. I would like to apologize for the shuttle problems you encountered during your recent stay at our hotel. The shuttle drivers do make curbside announcements, but it may not have been heard due to how busy the airport was. Needless to say, I have spoke to the Shuttle Company management to make sure we speak to all the drivers and ensure that all of our Airport guest can clearly hear the curbside announcements. Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention.

This was a wonderful hotel! The girl who checked us in Lorain, was great! She had a great attitude and was very informative. The hotel looked nice and modern and well kept. The room was nice and clean and very comfortable. There was free wifi in the room and the tv had a wide range of channels, which was great for the kids. They had a nice whirlpool spa that the kids enjoyed and breakfast every morning was great! I would defiantly recommend this hotel because of it convenience to the airport and wonderful accommodations.

The hotel location is very convenient for flights in and out of SFO. The facility is very clean and modern. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. We stayed here prior to an early morning flight out of SFO. If you are a light sleeper this is not the place for you. There were very distracting bright lights from the building next door and the noise level from the jets was loud. I always wondered why more soundproofing is not used on hotel constructed near airports. I was a little irritated by the $9.99 parking fee which was not disclosed on the IHG Friends and Family website. I don't like hidden fees that are not disclosed until you are at the check-in desk. Otherwise the stay was nice and the location is perfect. Next time I will look at other hotels in the area before I stay here again.

I would like to first apologize for the inconveniences that you encountered during your stay at our hotel. In regards to your issues, all of our rooms have black out drapes which are located behind the sheer drapes in the guest rooms. Also, I would like to personally apologize that you missed the disclaimer on the IHG website in regards to our overnight parking fees. Our hotel along with majority of the SFO Airport hotels do access a Daily Parking Fee. As none of the hotel's are quite as expensive as the Downtown San Francisco hotel's, we feel that this is a advantage of staying in the San Francisco Airport. We hope that you will give us another chance if you return the San Francisco area.

I checked in with Tess at Front Desk and she was outstanding. However, my room and the hallways had a sour smell on them and the gym was horrible. It only had one treadmill and it was not working properly. Overall, besides the smell and gym, my room had a mini-fridge, microwave, living room area, comfy bed, and great tv channels (DirecTV). If you can overlook the sour smell, this is a good hotel with great customer service. Thank you, Tess!

Cons:
Check in was extremely slow. The coffee maker was broken as well as the heat/ac unit. They brought extra blankets but offered no resolve. Was hard to sleep in the cold room. The on site ATM did not work but thankfully, the McDonalds next door accepted cards. $3.00 for a snack cake or candy bar from their machine. Ridiculous charge for parking.
Pros:
The breakfast was okay to get you going for the day. Wifi and in room net were okay. The free shuttle to the airport was convenient. Room was clean and bed very comfy.

This is a good hotel located within minutes from the airport. Rooms are ok, service is good. Wi-fi signal can be improved. Breakfast is ok. The hotel also provides a free airport shuttle. Overall, this hotel is recommended if you have an overnight layover in SFO.

This remodeled HIE has a great location right next to the SFO airport, CalTrain lines to the city and Highway 101 for easy access to all parts of the Bay Area. The hotel staff including John the manager, Tess and all the other front desk personnel are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Rooms are clean, as are all the other areas of the hotel. Do yourself a favor and stay here the next time you are in San Francisco.
