“Super stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 June 2014

We stayed at Mountain Top 2 nights in May - what a find! Although we arrived very late John made us very welcome. This is not a log cabin, this is a palace! The care and attention that John and Alvie put into receiving guests is both thoughtful and generous. We don't normally take pictures of food, but the home-made breakfast was so wonderful it had to be photographed. John gave us detailed advice about local hiking trails - we were not disappointed. When we return to Caiifornia this will be our preferred destination.

We just returned from this B&B and it was delightful. We have stayed at quite a few and Alvie & John are wonderful hosts. Their 2 room lodge is warm (literally, since it snowed while we were there), beautifully decorated, and our room was extremely comfortable. Because of the snow, they loaned us their Jeep so we could go on a beautiful hike. We consider that going above and beyond the norm. Last, but not least, Alvie prepared 2 amazing breakfasts - rich, unique recipes.

One word of warning - the drive from Springville is 29 miles of very winding roads, but if you stay with Alvie & John, you will have a very enjoyable stay in the Sequoias.

This is a lovely b&b. The rooms are comfortable, there's a hot tub, wine hour, and a huge breakfast. The owners are friendly and very helpful with directions and planning. Plus, the sequoia national forest is beautiful! I highly recommend it. I hope to be back.

They took us in late in the evening, gave us full run of this great place, gave us snacks, then BREAKFAST was fantastic and they even packed it to go so we could have snacks! John and Alvie are adorable and full of cool stories and info... they are so into the community and obviously love what they do... 5 mins from the giant sequoias... STUNNING! NOTHING but great things to say about this place!

Room Tip: Both rooms are great! we took the king size bed and the perfect flannel sheets... snug as a bug! We...

My experience at mountain top bed and breakfast was perfect. John and Alvie were amazing hosts. The place feels like home with no muss no fuss! Alvie made the most enormous breakfasts every morning and they were delicious! The B&B is perfectly located in the Sequoia Forest and around all the popular and hidden trails on the mountain. I would definitely stay here again. Place is awesome !

Wow, what a wonderful experience! John and Alvie Kracik should consider changing the name of Mountain Top Bed & Breakfast to Mountain Top "Home" because that is how they make you feel . . . at home. Upon our arrival, we were immediately greeted by a wagging tail on their dog, Sammy! (As any pet parent will attest, that is the warmest welcome in the world!)
Alvie is an amazing cook . . . breakfast, hors d'oeuvres, dinner - brilliant! The Aspen bedroom was our room of choice and we were pleased with our selection. The guest living room was warm and cozy (love a fireplace) and we had internet access. There is also a very nice spa room! Places to go in the area . . . Alvie gave us a map with perfect directions. The Trail of the Hundred Giants, Dome Rock, a waterfall, Boulder Creek and the Stagg Tree . . . all wonderful and recommended stops! Our stay was PERFECT and we miss Alvie, John and Sammy! Thank you so very much :)

Room Tip: Can't go wrong with either choice, but really loved the Aspen bedroom.

John followed our mapping for the wilderness hike planned for the next three days and kept all the info for his fire company just in case. Alvie went beyond the call of courtesy catching up with our vehicle some ten miles down the road to return a luggage bag. We would have hit the trailhead over an hour away and realized my fleece wasn't there, my only warm article to pack in backpack. (25f in morning). She saved us three hours. Home run. Thanks. Good breakfast too!!!
