We had missed breakfast and after driving through Sequoia where nothing was open, were ready to stop at the first open cafe we came to. This happened to be Clingans Coffee and Deli. As we pulled into the parking lot a truck driver who was pulling out asked if we had been there before. On hearing that we hadn't he said we were in luck, as it's the favorite place for locals.
After having breakfast we could understand his comment. A really nice place with good solid food. Nothing fancy, just good. As we ate, locals would come in and get something to go and the friendly interchanges with the staff added to the warm atmosphere. Give this one a try if you're visiting Sequoia via Highway 180.
