“Shouldn't tell about this beauty in Stinson Beach!!”

Perfect perfection. The location to a gorgeous stretch of beach, solitude in the off-season, rooms and service all wonderful! Fortunately for us we aren't so far away we can't plan a return visit again and again! For the summer book way in advance!

We have already planned another stay at this Hotel. It's a beach town, so our room was made up to accommodate our coming and going. A perfect location with the beach and good restaurants within walking distance. The dipsea Trail to Point Reyes is just accross the way, which was one of the destinations we set out for when we found the Sandpiper. We put to good use the mini kitchen with coffee maker, and refrigerator. The room was clean with all the amenities necessary for a fun and relaxing stay.

Room Tip: All rooms are about the same, very functional for a beach town.

Loved this place. Nice rooms with extra touches like night light, reading lamps, real coffee makers and coffee. Lovely garden area and short walk to beach and restaurants. Perfect for a group or family reunion.

We decided to spend the night in Stinson at the last minute, and were pleasantly surprised when we checked in at the Sandpiper Inn! Our room was adorable and very well-appointed. Great bath products, good quality coffee, good towels, good bedding, good TV.

The inn's office closes early (7PM), but our key was left outside in an envelope and we had no trouble checking in.

Only slight annoyance:
- The thermostat is inextricably tied to the gas fireplace. If it's a cold night (like it was when we visited) and you leave the thermostat set to room temp, the fireplace will ignite on and off in the middle of the night, which while pretty, woke me up. Better to crank the heat high while you're hanging out in the room in the evening and then turn it fully off before you go to sleep.

Another piece of advice: eat at the Parkside Cafe - it's excellent! They also have a wonderful bakery....great pastries and delicious bread. Take a loaf of bread home with you.

We will stay here again.

My husband and I stayed here for a night when we wanted to trek up Mt Tam. We loved this inn!
The good
1. Location- this is a few mins walk from the beach, in the night we could hear the waves from our room! Restaurants are walking distance too!
2. Service- the staff is extremely nice. They let us rent movies, games, beach chairs, beach towels etc all for free! We thoroughly enjoyed lounging in the beach chairs at the beach :)
3. Clean and nice rooms- not luxurious but just what you need and extremely clean.

The only downside is the lack of a restaurant in the inn, you have to go out elsewhere even for a cup of coffee. But that was fine since the restaurants were so close by!

We stayed for 1 night in early November. We loved the location- short walk to the beach and the town's restaurants. The room was very clean with a fireplace and frig/ microwave. I loved the extras like movies for your room, books/ games, and beach toys. The chairs outside the room are perfect for morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. We stayed in room 6 on the 2nd floor and could see and hear the ocean from the front door. We would definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: Room 6 on the 2nd floor- ocean view from the deck

Quaint and rustic. Everything you need. Fireplace is a nice touch, along with the emergency kit in closet!
Close to beach and the three restaurants. ( a great meal at the Sand Dollar and bkft at the other place). Bathroom could use a thorough cleaning and fresh caulking around shower. Ok for me but I'm sure my wife would like to see it cleaned better.
The hose for washing your feet after the beach was nice, also the garden area. It was good for a days downtime to end my trip, very peaceful. Bring supplies from San Fran or wherever as the general store is expensive.
Downside is that it is fairly dark around the rooms and no phones so if had an emergency you have to go to the pay phone and hopefully have change as the front desk closes around 7:00. No problem I guess these days with cell phones though, but unusual though.

Room Tip: Call ahead, only a few cabins and room and not too many other places to stay.
