“Small'ish rooms, nice staff”

We were in town only for overnight to attend a Beth Moore conference next door at the Stockton Arena. The hotel was sold out, I'm assuming due to this event. They very kindly allowed us to check in to our room earlier than the standard check in time. Our room was a bit small, but that's ok. It had an apt size fridge and standard size microwave in it. The bathroom was decent sized as well. Probably our only "complaint" was that the restaurant didn't seem to be ready for the hotel to be sold out. While the food was very good, the service was kinda slow. The outdoor area was quite nice. After the conference was over the fist night, we came back to the grassy area and pulled some chairs together to visit and chat with the other ladies who had come from our church, but were staying at a different hotel in town. If you're attending something in the DT Stockton area or the Arena, this is a very nice place to stay.

We had a great time at the University Plaza Waterfront Hotel.Great location near the Stockton delta, very good service and excellent dining. For a 4 1/2 star hotel the price was also very reasonable. Would highly recommend.

We stayed at this hotel for some nearby college visits. They've done a really fantastic job with the design and style both in the rooms and grounds of this property. Our room was very accommodating with a full size refrigerator, microwave and nice desk set up. We had room service that was extremely reasonably priced and we really enjoyed the pool area.

Room Tip: Of course you'll want a room with a view of the pool area. It was fun to see the action.

Fantastic property that would be a real find as a large "boutique hotel" in SoCal. Wonderful people and great service. From the front desk to management, all are wonderful. Restaurant service is especially fantastic! Mary, CC and the rest are great!

Room Tip: Ask for a water view. West facing rooms on a weekend evening may result in a free fireworks show at...

Last minute booking driving into Stockton area. Recommended by a competitor hotel that was full up. Best deal ever. Deluxe room that accommodated us and family dog - great layout, space (even with a fridge) overlooking outdoor patio area. Double glazed windows that kept out patio noise. Jessica at the front desk MADE the stay amazing by her incredible customer service and personality - what a gem!

When my significant other got stuck in Stockton for the evening, we decided to check out the Waterfront. We'd heard it was the nicest hotel in Stockton...which might not mean much.

The first thing you'll want to know is that it is half hotel, half off-campus housing for the local college. This isn't really a problem, but it does detract from the "upscale" decor. I do want to stress there was no additional noise from the students, just a very studenty demographic lounging in the lobby.

The room was nearly identical to most Four Points I've stayed in. Comfortable with spare furnishing. Unlike Four Points, this room had a full-sized fridge (with a noticeable but not awful hum) and the room was a bit on the small side. Down side for me: no bathtub, just a shower stall.
I'll stress that it was still a nice room, just not as nice as I would expect for over $100 in the middle of the week.

Strangely, the night we were there, there was a fireworks show at one in the morning, waking us from our sleep. This isn't the hotel's fault, obviously. Just a hazard of staying downtown.

I do want to stress that the staff was incredibly polite and helpful in a very genuine way.
