It was my first visit to the place Sunnvale and was looking for average budget stay and found this one. They provide what they commit. My stay was for around 7 days. The check in was quick and given a room on ground floor (as we requested ground floor). Room size was small but good enough. Had a problem with fire alarm in the room and it kept beeping after every few minutes. I reported problem to their front desk and I was shifted to the new room on the same floor immidiately. Wi - fi in the room was working nice so did the TV and air conditioner. The place is quite peaceful but no direct room service for food or anything from hotel itself. The other thing I found unusual is that the local calls are not free from your room and more than that room to room (intercom) calls are also chargeable. That is something odd for a business traveller. The internet was little on a slower side. But on the whole it is more than worth what you spend for it. Again.. they provide whatever they commit (on their website).

Stayed here for 3 weeks during business at the advice of others on Trip Advisor. You could pay more, but not find better hospitality.
I was quite pleased with my stay. There is no restaurant or bar, but plenty nearby.

The desk clerk at one of the large chain hotels recommended the Wild Palms as an alternative because they were full. What a terrific thing to happen! Centrally located in Sunnyvale, the Wild Palms was quiet, secure, and close to restaurants. The lobby isn't elaborate, but the desk personnel were welcoming and very efficient.

Our room was very well appointed and the bed extremely comfortable. There were touches found in much more expensive hotels. The morning breakfast was filling and a variety of food was available.

Definitely worth stopping! And to think, it was under $90 for the night!

The Wild Palms was quite a lovely place to stay. There were a few minor details that (as someone who works at a hotel) I personally felt needed improvement. Overall however, for the money it was a great place.
The room was cheerfully decorated and very clean, and there was certainly an effort made to give it some details that made it feel different and homey. Although it seemed busy, the room was very quiet and we had a wonderful stay. The facilities are alright, the pool is certainly nowhere near as big as it looked in the photos but we definitely enjoyed soaking in the hot tub and then jumping in the pool for a cool down. Breakfast was also satisfactory, they had eggs, fruit, yogurt, oatmeal and cereal every morning and the selection of teas was really nice. The breakfast area was also quite comfortable and nicely decorated, except for the fact that most of the wicker chairs were very rickety! The staff in general were quite friendly and nice. Melody who served breakfast in the mornings did an excellent job of keeping everything replenished and clean. I didn't have the same sense about the evening staff, a couple of times I noticed that the coffee table was not being watched or replenished at all, and in general they just weren't quite as customer service oriented as I would expect.
Despite this however, I definitely would recommend this hotel for someone who has a middle of the line budget and wants a clean and attractive place to stay.

I needed to travel to Silicon Valley for work, and since I wasn't going to have a car, I needed a hotel that was on a convenient bus route. I couldn't have made a better choice than the Wild Palms. Sure, it's an old motel that they've spiffed up, but at less than $100/night (generally) it's a steal. Super clean rooms, quiet overall, free wi-fi and an ample breakfast all included in the rate. If you're a fan of Indian, Thai, Japanese or Persian restaurants, there are tons within walking distance. The 22/522 bus that runs up and down El Camino Real stops right in front of the property, and while it is near a busy intersection (El Camino & Wolfe) you barely notice any of the traffic noise. I will definitely keep coming back!

We last stayed here in Sept 2009. We have been coming to the Sunnyvale area to visit family for over 10 years. A lot of times we stay at the Wild Palms. We like the unconventional way it is decorated, not your average motel/inn decor. We also like the way the pool is landscaped. When the bougainvillas around the pool area are in bloom and the sun is radiant, we feel as though we are in a Caribbean resort. Because of our back problems, we like the firmer beds (as opposed to an opinion of another reviewer). The staff is always super friendly. Our rooms have always been spotless. Our only negative comment is that they've cut back the weekend breakfast to continental style. Eggs and sausages are now served only during weekdays.

I would never recommend this hotel. I have stayed in other hotels in this chain and they were wonderful. This was one step up from Motel 6 or a Days Inn. Smoking was allowed everywhere. We could not be by the pool because of the amount of people smoking. People smoked everywhere. If you smoke it is a good hotel for you. The beds were extremely uncomfortable, sheets extremely worn and used, bath towels even had holes in them, For hotel amenities they gave one small bottle of shampoo/conditioner and hand lotion--cheap. Oh yes, no room service, bar or pay per view movies.
