The hotel offered excellent services. This included the free breakfast, parking and Wifi. The room are spacious and well equipped with iron, coffee maker, TV channels, fridge and A/C.
The staff are always helpful and courteous. The Gym is well equipped and a computer with printer and paper always available for all the guests. The swimming pool is heated and clean. The manager allow late departure without additional charges. There plenty of restaurants and shops all around the Hotel.
I strongly recommend this hotel to everyone.

Pros:
1) When we checked into our room, the mirror on the door was crooked and a lampshade was banged up. We credit the staff for immediately taking care of these issues when we informed them, but housekeeping really should have resolved the matter before we arrived.

2) Good location if you need to be in or near Sunnyvale, Mountain View and Santa Clara.

3) Breakfast is plentiful and includes a variety of items.

4) Free wifi.

Cons:
1) Even though we didn't see anyone using the pool area, the music played on and on. If your room is by the pool, you will hear it. We actually thought it was the Mexican restaurant next door. We called the front desk and inquired about the music after 10pm and they said it would be turned off "soon"; the staff left the music going until we called again at 11pm.

2) There was no closet in the room; just a wardrobe with the tv next to it. The ironing board was in the wardrobe at an angle so that limited hanging up clothes.

3) This is not a smoke-free hotel. In our non-smoking room we could still smell smoke.

4) Parking is plentiful but if you come back late, you may have to park in the back or on the sides of the establishment.

5) During our week-long stay, the towels were changed daily but the bedsheets, not even once.

We would recommend this hotel to a friend, but it would really depend on what that friend requires in their hotel stay.

I ended up here after trying to check in at the Cupertino Inn, which was full. They sent me here and paid for the night. I don't know how much it cost and since I never stayed at the Cupertino Inn I can't compare the two, but the Maple Tree seems to be at a slightly lower price point. Still, the Maple Tree was fine for one night. Previous reviews a few years ago said the lobby was going to be renovated and that seems to be the case. I did not explore the building but it has a breakfast room and an exercise room with several machines. Check in was friendly.

The guest room itself is a little dated but spacious, clean and functional. There is a picture of the room on this site taken by another traveler in 2006 and that was exactly what my room looked like. There is an old-style TV and a microwave and fridge, and a coffee maker. I was facing the main road but did not hear traffic and I am sensitive to that noise. The bed was firm and comfortable. Plenty of free parking around the building and free wifi.

In the morning there was a free buffet breakfast. I don't remember hot dishes but they did have make-your-own waffles and a bowl of boiled eggs.

Mahalo to all the previous reviewers that led me to this nice find in Silicon Valley. Great bargain for the area. Room was average for this type of property. Clean and quiet with comfy beds. Enjoyed the Japanese choices for breakfast: rice, miso soup, ajitsuke nori, tsukemono and Cup of Noodles. Evening reception had a good selection of wine and beer. The location was ideal for our college tours of Santa Clara and Stanford. Lots of shopping and dining available in both directions on El Camino.

My brother recommended the Maple Tree Inn as a good value. My wife and I stayed 4 nights. The housekeeping service was a bit disappointing in that the towel service was short one washcloth two days in a row, and one bedside lamp had a burned out bulb. There was minimal closet space to hang clothes. There is a computer and printer in the lobby; when I couldn't print boarding passes (printer out of ink) the desk clerk did so for me. There is ample parking. The location on El Camino is convenient to both US 101 and I-280. Breakfast is included with the room, and the choices include Japanese pickles, seaweed, dry cereal, bananas, waffles, sausage, biscuits, muffins, toast, etc.

I'm a female traveling to Sunnyvale monthly for business. I value comfort, cleanliness, and bang for buck----and I stay only here. Although I could rack up a lot of frequent flyer points staying elsewhere, I can't see wasting money by paying twice as much to stay someplace else. Here are the pluses:
1) Free hi-speed wifi, which is 100% dependable and very fast.
2) Nice rooms, comfortable beds, very clean.
3) TERRIFIC, FREE breakfast with lots of choices---it's not just continental
4) Great location, lots of good restaurants around, convenient
5) Really nice pool, jacuzzi, and workout room
6) Free parking
7) Friendly, helpful staff
8) GREAT RATES (under $100 per night)

The only thing this hotel doesn't offer is frequent flyer points (it's not part of a chain) and room service. If that's worth an extra $100 per night to you (and your firm), then by all means go to a chain hotel. And if you can find something to complain about at this hotel, then you are just way too nitpicky. I have recommended this hotel to friends and colleagues, who liked it just as much as I did. It's nice, not luxurious (although the pool area is extra-nice)---but then keep in mind that you're paying about half what you'd pay elsewhere, AND getting a great free breakfast to boot (f you have kids, that alone will save you $40), and free wifi, and free parking---all amenities for which the big chains typically charge.
