Mariner's Resort
Reviewed 21 July 2014

Mariners Resort has reopened and is now called Eagle Lake Resort. New owners and management. The store, restaurant, and bar are still closed. It just opened a few weeks ago so there are just the basics of sewer, water, and 30 & 50 amp electric. No Wi-Fi or TV. The lake is very low and the boat ramp across the road is still closed and the North end of the lake is not navigable. If you want to launch a boat for fishing or water sports head to Spaulding. It is quiet, not crowded, and most of the pull thru sites have a nice view of the lake. Great place for trail riding of all kinds, right from your campsite, with access to the Lassen National Forest. See their web site @ www.eaglelakerv.com

I planned our road/camping trip and had this as a stop. The website looked nice and the place had good reviews. When we arrived it was a creepy ghost town. The place was deserted and the restaurant was closed. The thing that bothered me the most was that their website was very nice and still allowed online reservations. Thank goodness we didn't make any. We ended up driving another 45 minutes down the road and staying in a hotel.

This RV park is located 35 miles north of Susanville on Eagle Lake in a scenic area. The staff is very friendly, and they have gasoline, diesel and propane, as well as a small store.

They have individually owned park models for rent here, and about half the park has long-term live-in folks.

The roads and pads are gravel, and some of the pads are not too level. They are quite wide, and there are many trees. There are only a few sites with a lake view, and it is a distant view from about 1/4 mile away. The ads in the camping guides implied they were "on the lake", but they are not.

It was quiet and peaceful in May, but in the summer it might be crowded.
