“Pleasantly Surprised”

BellaGrace Vineyards
More attraction details
Attraction details
Owner description: Bella Grace, est. 2006, is beautifully sited in the Sierra Foothills, with tasting locations in the Shenandoah Valley and historic Sutter Creek. Our family run operation achieved state-wide recognition for its wines within a few years after opening, winning two "Best of California" awards for Barbera and Grenache Blanc wines. Bella Grace continues to strive for excellence through sustainable wine growing and hand crafted winemaking. The vineyard property, in the Shenandoah Valley, grows twelve distinct wine grape varieties and three varieties of olive trees. Sustainability also extends to winemaking; much of the wine making is performed by hand, a hillside wine cave stores and ages barreled red wines, and a new solar project provides 100% of our winery power requirements.

“Pleasantly Surprised”
Reviewed 6 March 2013

With a group of my friends we headed to Sutter Creek for a day of sampling cheeses, wine tasting, shopping and lunch. Our first stop was the Sutter Creek Cheese Shoppe where we sampled cheeses and bought many wonderful ones. Our next stop was wine tasting so we dropped into the first tasting room we came upon; we knew nothing about it. The name was BellaGrace. We sampled a sparking wine and then four reds (our group prefers red wine). After each tasting we were pleasantly surprised because we all like the four reds that we tasted. First of all each one of us usually has a favorite like old vine zin or babera etc. Also, I don't think we have ever liked all the wines poured at any one winery. I have to say we all liked the four reds and would be happy to serve any one of them. Another treat is that they make olive oil and sell it either plain or flavored with basil, lemon, orange etc.
If you like wine and wine tasting BellaGrace is definitely worth the visit.

“Wine Tasting Around the Corner”
Reviewed 29 October 2012

If you were smart enough to book the Sutter Creek Inn, come out the front and turn right. The delightful home where this winery is housed awaits you. They offer history and a wide variety of their local wines - something for everyone. We can also vouch for the quality of their olive oil, so even if you don't care for wine, come in for this. The spacious setting offers a comfortable tasting environment, and highlights local artists. Everyone is friendly and warm - you may be there for a while.

There are a lot of stairs, so if this is a problem, call in advance to see if there is another way in.

“Excellent Wines &Tasting Room In Sutter Creek”
Reviewed 25 August 2012

If you are in Sutter Creek and like wine, then you should certainly visit BellaGrace. First, the tasting room is unique because it occupies a nicely restored pioneer home on the main street. BG's reserve wines are excellent. We joined their wine club but mostly got recent vintages that need to age before they will be up to the quality of BG's reserve wines. The owners are super nice and you can tell they are working hard to be an excellent winery. This winery and the Tanis winery are my two favorite Amador County wineries thus far.
