“Another great visit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 June 2012

This was our second stay at the Sutter Creek Inn, the first in 2010. We really enjoy visiting beautiful Amador County, the wonderful wines of the Shenandoah Valley, and driving the scenic roads through the Sierra Nevada mountains. On this most recent stay, we were joined by 3 other couples. All the rooms our group picked were great - clean, well maintained, and uniquely decorated in a theme consistent with the room's name. My wife and I stayed in the "Toolshed" room (the 2nd time we've stayed in this room). It has a large patio with table and chairs and provides a great place for a group to gather. We had good meals at Susan's Place and J&D's Steakhouse. The new pizza place in town, Pizza Plus, make's an awesome pizza. Lindsay and her staff at the Sutter Creek Inn are wonderful and took great care of our group. We'll be back.

Room Tip: If you are traveling with others, the Toolshed has a nice patio with table and chairs and provides a...

We have stayed in almost all the B&B's in the area and we keep coming back to the Sutter Creek Inn. We've stayed in a lot of the different rooms and we now have settled on Stephen's Room. It's away from the main house and is perfect for our needs. One thing we have to have is a "modern" bathroom. The staff is friendly and the breakfast is more than adequate. We always have a good time and meet new people. This time we took another couple with us who also enjoyed themselves immensely.

We've been going to Sutter Creek at least once a year (Thanksgiving weekend) to meet friends we met at a B&B for the past 8 years. This is the perfect place to stay!

Room Tip: Just take a look at the pictures on their website and go from there since all the rooms are differen...

Have stayed here many times and would recommend it to anyone but especially groups. There are many rooms - all different and the grounds are beautiful with several nooks for reading alone or socializing with a gathering. Enjoyed J & D's for Trivia Night on Wednesdays and of course, TASTE in Plymouth for a special dinner.

Room Tip: We are unusual in that we don't get up early enough for breakfast and learned quickly not to boo...

My husband and I stayed here in April for a long overdue weekend away together and are so glad we did. We had a fabulous time here, and it was everything we had wanted. We stayed in the Miner's Cabin which we found to be the perfect space - somehow cozy and roomy at the same time. The way the sunshine came in through the yellow bathroom into our room made everything look cheerful - and the blossoming tree right outside our window was the icing on the cake. We had our own patio where we got to sit and enjoy some local sparkling wine while we watched the birds and the clouds.

Breakfast the next morning was great - we came an hour early for the coffee and had an enjoyable time getting to know another couple there as we chatted in the sunny sitting room. The actual meal was great - but the best part of all were the walnut-zuchini that were thin like crepes and amazing with just a touch of butter.

The ambiance of the Sutter Creek Inn, plus its extremely convenient location made this a really great weekend getaway and we definitely plan to come back. Next time we want to try the "Tool Shed".

Room Tip: The Miner's Cabin is a winner.

The Sutter Creek Inn is a great place to stay. My wife and I have been there twice, for several days each time, and found the Inn comfortable, the staff friendly and helpful, and the breakfasts delicious. The library in The Cellar Room is amazing, and the fire place there also is really pleasant on a cold winter's night. (It's easy to light, too.)

We love that we can drive to the Gold Country and spend a night or two. We never pan for gold but do enjoy staying at The Sutter Creek Inn and dining at Taste in Plymouth.

Did we ever hit gold last Monday night! In our 52 years of marriage, living in California, Hawaii. England and Belgium, we have stayed in a lot of B&B's. The Sutter Creek Inn certainly ranked among the very best. For about five years we have been doing wine tasting in the Shanandoah valley. Often we've walked by Sutter Creek Inn and thought we should try it because of the inviting garden. Everything about our stay was just great. We looked into quite a few rooms and all were tastefully furnished and eash seemed to have its special charm. Everything was so clean and neat and in good working order. The delicious gourmet hot breakfast was the frosting on the cake. To top it off we considered the price very reasonable.

Room Tip: The manager was very accommodating to our desires.
