“Happy hour cruise is inexpensive and a really nice ride”
Reviewed 28 August 2013

A year ago we did a lunch cruise and went into Emerald Bay -- a 3 1/2 hour cruise. Enjoyed it a lot. This year we just wanted to get out on the water for a bit and so we did the Happy Hour cruise. A lovely time for 1 1/2 hours and inexpensive. Leaves time to go out to dinner after. There is no need to go to South Shore for a boat ride.

“Seeing the Lake from a Different Perspective”
Reviewed 26 August 2013

There are so many stunning vistas of Lake Tahoe from the surrounding shore and mountains. But viewing the surrounding shore/mountains from a boat on the lake gives you a whole different perspective. We drove the scenic route around the Lake, stopping at Tallac and many of the overlooks to take pictures, including Emerald Bay. But only the way to see Vikingsholm is from a boat on the lake unless you take a strenuous, very steep, non-accessible trail down to the castle hill and back from the parking lot. The Tahoe Gal goes around Fannette Island, again providing a very different perspective from viewing at a distance from an overlook. We took a mid-day cruise and purchased lunch on the boat. The menu items include sandwiches, nachos, pizza, wine, beer, ice cream, etc. The food was decent but expensive. Be warned, it is quite windy and chilly out on the lake and it is a three-hour cruise. So be sure to take a jacket, lip balm, sunblock, etc. I also recommend wearing long pants.

“Great Narration of the Lake”
Reviewed 21 August 2013

I would highly recommend Tahoe Gal Charters out of Tahoe City for a beautiful tour of the west shore on the way down to Emerald Bay. This tour is longer than the others on the lake and cheaper. The narration of the lake was great and the person knew his Tahoe history. The west shore is beautiful with gorgeous rock formations, sandy beaches, clear blue water and fantastic homes. Food and drinks are available at an additional price; we had their nachos and they were great. Next year I want to do the moon light cruise.

“Great way to see the Lake”
Reviewed 22 July 2013

This was a pricey trip, but it's a pleasant way to see the Lake. We took the hour and a half brunch tour ($35 per person, no discounts, food not included). We didn't order any food because we were there for the tour, but the people around us who did order seemed satisfied. The boat itself is a typical tour boat with upper and lower decks, indoor and outdoor seating. We chose to sit up top in the outdoor area. The only thing I didn't like was the cheap lawn chairs. The view is superb. The captain was knowledgeable. Who knew there was so much to see around the Lake? It was a nice way to spend the early afternoon. It's probably the only time we'll do it, so it was worth it.
