“Great Townhouse (#123)”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 August 2014

We fully agree with "Mike_S_CA" (see previous review).

We stayed 3 great days in unit #123 and felt at home right away!
Prior to our arrival we had several (email/phone) contact to exchange information with the owner and made a clear arrangement to get the key.

The main entrance of the condo complex has been renewed as well as the pavement.
The pool is great to jump in at the end of day (or any moment of the day by the way).

Room Tip: This condo (unit 123) is very well suited for families.

Some of the reviews here are a bit harsh/misleading - this is not a hotel, but a condo complex. Each condo is individually owned, and there is no central rental service, but any owner that wants to rent can rent through an agent or on their own through VRBO, etc. Pick your unit and rental source carefully and you will have a great vacation.

The complex is from the 70's, though many, but not all units have been remodeled. The common areas in the complex (pools, hot tub, sauna, tennis courts, playground) are updated and well maintained.

I have been in a number of condo's here, even rented a number of units for family event last summer, so I have seen quite a few of them. I have rented through multiple agents and VRBO a well. Most of the condos are really very nice and great places to enjoy your vacation. Some may be very modern and luxurious, some are older but still perfectly liveable, and I am sure some are not well maintained..

If you decide to stay here, or at ANY condo for your vacation, just make sure to look for a place that is in good shape. Pay attention to photos and descriptions, ask questions, etc. Generally if it has been remodeled, has nice touches, etc, the owner (and agent) will care more and you will likely have a beter experience

Room Tip: These are condo's so every unit is different. Look carefully at pictures and descriptions to fin...

This is review of unit 24.

When we arrived at 3 pm, we were greeted by the owners with the words: "I hate people that arrive early!". After that we waited for 2 hours in the snow for them to complete the "cleaning". Nevertheless, $100 was charged from our deposit for "early arrival".
The house was in extremely dirty and rundown condition - that despite $250! is charged for cleaning.
When we had an emergency, and left 10 messages to the owner - she never called us back. When next morning I reached her in the office, she hung up the phone.
All dishes were dirty. We had to hand-wash them all before use. Dishwasher is barely working and does not clean dishes at all.
Several hot water taps were constantly leaking, as a result there was no hot water
Gas fireplace mentioned in the ad was nowhere to be found.

This place was like a frat house, old, dirty, worn, & stunk as well. If you want to pay the $ to stay here, I suggest you go to Vallejo & rent a motel, you will most likely have a better time for a better price with muchnicer accomodations. This place was more than misrepreseneted, it is a complete joke. & I didn't even mention you have to deal with Carmen Dresslar, who is notoriously unethical.

We recently stayed at #190 and it was awesome! The place was simple, clean, and had everything we needed for our stay. The rooms were spacious and not cluttered, with simple and practical furniture. The condo even had a washer or dryer - it was the first time we came back home with clean clothes! It was one of the most well rounded lodging places for us ever - and i travel very frequently. The complex had 2 pools, hot tub, and tennis courts. The downer: no internet! Nonetheless, I am ready to book again for next year!

We have stayed at one of these units for four nights over Christmas and payed $1350. Here is the ad for the unit:
[--]
It is a complete misrepresentation of the condo. This was not a coner unit, the mattresses were so old and dirty they looked like the ones seen on the street of San Francisco. My back ached all day long sleeping on "super quality foam mattress". Most of the storage was taken by owners junk and some was bolted with a lock such as the closet in master bedroom. Even though they charged $250 cleaning fee, we had to re-wash all dishes and glasses because everything was dirty. The grill was so disgusting that we did not even touch it. I will post pictures to prove my review.
Stay away from this place. It is a total ripoff. The owners have several properties and they are also running the leasing agency so beware. I do not believe that the positive reviews are authentic.
See the pictures!

Worst ever experience renting a property
The owners, also the realtors (Paragon Real Estate Group, Carmen Dresslar) were extremely rude. They will never return a phone call even when we had an emergency case. They charged us extra for arriving 2 hours earlier even though the unit was not ready and we had to wait outside.
The add was decieving and had nothing to do with a real condo....luxury townhouse turned out to be extremely old, dirty, malfunctioning and broken place. One of the sleeping spots was a bad placed under the stairs !!! in the living room.
Mattresses were broken, dishwasher was so old it didn't clean the dishes. Dishes in the unit were dirty even tough we were charged $250 cleaning fee. Faucet was leaking and as a result there was never enough hot water. The grill was so disgusting we couldn't use it.
We've been renting properties at Tahoe for years but this one a complete ripoff!!!
