This is our second snowmobiling experience with this operation at North Lake Tahoe. The first time, several years ago, we ran into the same problems noted in the other reviews. My wife dumped her snowmobile right at the beginning; no damage but it held up the group. Half of the group of 10 or so wanted to just go fast and the others were always catching up. I spent half my time airborne; bumps at high speed. It was an interesting tour and the guides were patient. This time we opted for a private tour. They said they really didn't do this but if we showed up early they would accommodate us. We did and we got a private tour. Kevin, our guide, was more than patient and the trip was excellent. Great views and lots of off-road stuff. In summary, you will need goggles, they provide, and a good face mask which they do not provide. I didn't have a good face mask and my face was very cold on the long runs. And if it's cold, bring warm clothes! And use the bathroom before you leave. I would never recommend this activity with a large group of people with mixed skills. But if you've never done it before, it's a kick.
