We stay in a lot of hotels and usually do not have big expectations when we pay $100 a night for a room. However Firelite Lodge proved to be an outstanding value and we'll definitely return. We arrived to what I think is the room with the best view in the place. Everything was freshly painted and clean. The bathroom has obviously been renovated recently. And the complimentary breakfast was awesome! Fresh waffles, fresh fruit salad, cereals, delicious muffins, hard boiled eggs, toast, coffee and juices. Wow! We really enjoyed it every day. The owners are delightful. Do yourself a favor and stay at the Firelite when in North Lake Tahoe.

Beds/linens excellent, very clean. Good breakfast and I stay at a lot of hotels. Nice fireplace in the room. Quiet. Priced right. Quick in and out of our hotel room. Right off the road, but the rooms set off away from the traffic.

Immediately upon walking into the reception area, it is easy to sense this family's pride in their hotel... You are directly across the street from the lake with several restaurants and a pizza place within walking distance. All of kings beach is within walking distance for those with a bit more energy, or literally a 1 minute drive. North Shore casinos are maybe a 3 minute drive. Tahoe City is about a 10 minute drive.

If you are browsing for a place to stay in or near Kings Beach, and you want a clean, quiet and safe location, this is your place. There are a TON of Slum-Lord ownd 'motels' in Kings Beach that are DIRTY and DISGUSTING. The Firelight is the exact opposite as it is clean, was recently remodeled and run by a very nice and attentive family that want you to enjoy their property as much as they do.

They also have a small cabin for rent for families or larger groups (call and ask about availability) that my family (3 adults & 3 children) stayed in and it was BEAUTIFUL!

Last thing here... If you can get a top floor room, you will have an unobstructed view of the sunset over Lake Tahoe... Sitting up on a top balcony with a glass of wine watching the colors fade from blue to pink to yellow, purple, violet and beyond was the highlight of getting to stay with Pete and Beata at the Firelite Lodge.

Great for summer beach trips to Tahoe (Stand Up Paddleboard and kayak rentals across the street) and a great location for snowboarding whether you will ride Northstar, Diamond peak, Squaw, Alpine or Homewood... Great access to all of the North Shore!

For 'fitness center' you can walk across the street and rent paddleboards, they rent bikes in the summer or just walk up the street behind the lodge and hike to your heart's content through the regional park... You can even reach the Tahoe Rim Trail if you are extremely ambitious.

Love this place and I look forward to returning as it is the only place we will stay on the north shore!

Room Tip: Ask for a top floor room with a lake-view and a balcony. OMG! The views of the sunsets from the room are AMAZING!

Overall, we really enjoyed out stay at Firelite Lodge. We were in Tahoe with our two kids, so the two bedroom king with pull out twin sofa was very convenient, as was the little kitchenette (which is really just a sink, fridge, microwave and countertop, but it was great for storing and preparing snacks.) The free breakfast was very basic: waffles, toast, cereal, muffins, fruit salad, coffee and juice. It got the job done. Our room had a nice covered gas fireplace in it, which was awesome for warming up at after a long day of sledding. The bathroom had been recently renovated and was really nice- and they give you a huge pile of towels! One of my favorite parts was that after driving all afternoon to get to Tahoe we were arriving after 10pm, so the confirmation email said to call. We did, and they gave us our room number over the phone. We arrived to an unlocked room that had the heat turned on and the keys waiting for us on the table. It was so nice to just go into the warm room, unload the car and go to bed without the hassle of having to check in. My one complaint: the beds are awful. Really, really uncomfortable. Despite that, we would probably stay here again if we were with the kids.

The room that we stayed was very nice and clean. A carpet was new. It looked like the hotel rooms were recently remodeled. The bathroom was shiny. A gas fireplace in a room is used as a heater at the same time. It was quiet at night. Location is great. The lake is just across a street.
