We stayed two nights here in a small cabin with a kitchenette. The cabin was cosy, clean and well appointed and comfortable for two people. Each morning there was a very good breakfast with cookked meats, scrambled eggs, fresh muffins and lovely waffles in a pleasant dining room. The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. A good place for exploring the lake.

Room Tip: The road can be noisy so try for a room well back from the road.

This location is great. Te cottages are quaint, but small. If you need space note the size breakfast is great also, we have stayed here for we'll over 10 years and keep coming back. My choice for the North Shore.

This us a nice place, but not as fantastic as other reviews led us to believe. Pros: located directly across the street from the beach/lake, friendly service; great breakfast (muffins, waffles, eggs, bacon, sausage, juice, coffee, cereal), clean bathroom and linens. Cons: icky, dirty carpet; tiny & hot if you opt for a studio; road noise; hard bed. Definitely rustic as the name implies.

A long flight delay meant we arrived after midnight, but the owners had left us the key and we were grateful to get to bed. We had booked a small cottage for the two of us and it fulfilled all our needs. The breakfasts are nourishing and varied and the coffeee (available all day) is excellent. The cottages are just across the road from a very good beach.

I've stayed at a lot of places in Tahoe, South Shore, North Shore and about everywhere in between when I head up to snowboard in the winter and bike and hike in the summer and fall.

I have found the "Cottages" as I call them to be by far the best place for me. It offers a nice place to stay and feel comfortable with out prying every cent out of my hand... It is a true gem of Lake Tahoe and a great value and it helps that the owners real nice and help you out as much as possible.

It's location is great in the winter - 3 hours from the bay area and very close to all the ski resorts
Be sure and check cal trans chain controls before heading up in the winter... It is spectacular if you happen to be up there when it snows.

The summer is even better with all of the Biking and hiking options near by.

Oh and I almost forgot to mention the breakfast they include. It's great, eggs, sausage, waffles,
muffins, orange juice , coffee, and even Tang in a special Tang pitcher. I had forgotten all about Tang, brought back childhood memories

This place is by far the best place to stay in Tahoe. :)

Do your self a favour and add this little gem on you must stay list at Lake Tahoe over christmas. Well appointed quaint cottages are on offer in a mulitude of options for the whole family .

We stayed over December and whole place was enchanting. A easy walk to the lake, and a short drive to local ski resorts. Self catering was easy with a large supermarket down the road, but resturants for easy dining is aslo within walking distance.

We would recommend this location to any travellers that are looking for budget accomodation, but with still all the trimmings. Execellant value

2 dads and 2 sons stayed here while in Tahoe for a fishing trip. We had one of the larger cabins and it worked out fine. The kids loved being near the beach (but across a busy road) and the complimentary brownies. It was simple, clean and the owners are nice. I would stay here again. Free breakfast and wifi.
