Great food, great service, very friendly staff. We went for lunch, I wanted the Oyster Bienzo, but they said it was on the dinner menu, and sometimes the afternoon happy hour app menu. We had fish tacos, and brisket sliders, they were delicious. Bloody Mary was awesome.
We left for the day, I still wanted the Oyster Bienzo, so we went back for dinner. Boy was that the right choice! To die for goodness, the fresh baked bread dipped in all that cheesy goodness! 5* meal.

we used to go to Spindleshanks for dinner in the past, no more. not only did we wait for forty minutes to get our food but when it came it was not good. not sure if it is due to their change of location but we will not go again.

Met the owner (a very nice man), and decided to bring my family to the restaurant. It's expensive, but the food is quite good. The calamari, beer prawns and ahi tuna were excellent starters. Beautiful presentation & tasty, unique flavors. Especially the...well, all of them. Wasn't blown away by the brick-chicken (too much skin for my taste)- but I understand it's quite popular with most guests. My parents enjoyed the linguini. My wife loved the hangar steak. I tried it and the ranchero sauce they use is delicious. Pleasant atmosphere by the golf course. Nice for a casual meal outside. Glad we went.

The old location has closed, and the new location at the Brockway golf course has not yet opened. It would have been nice to indicate this on their website or on the phone message machine. We arrived after spending 20 minutes trying to find them and were told there was no set opening date.

Went there tonight, 6 of us who live in Tahoe City for the winter. Arrived around 9pm, clearly a bit late for them, service began slow, and when only a few of us wanted an alcoholic beverage, the patron seemed unimpressed. The Blue Moon beer my friend order somehow came out as a bloody mary. Not wanting to cause a fuss, he ordered another beer, without sending the drink back. When ordering, the patron was overly-rude and tried to rush our choices. The food was ok, overpriced and almost definitely from frozen...the $29 Ahi Special had a very rubbery texture. This probably would have been fine, had not the bill been a disaster. They added an 18% gratuity, to a $115 bill. When enquiring that the menu said "an 18% gratuity will be added to table of 7 or more", they dismissed us as being wrong. We grabbed a menu, and showed them that they in fact were wrong, at it had said "7 or more". Rather than apologising for their second mistake (the 1st being they lied when we enquired), the waitress continued to mock us with our attitude, calling us "rude". She was not subtle, and when leaving them a very generous $10 tip, we made sure they understood why they were lucky to receive that.
Poor service, rude, and outright lying with trying to take advantage of what they most likely thought were stupid tourists, absolute joke.
