We had a great stay, very friendly owners and staff. Matt waited until 8pm for our arrival, very much appreciated. Our cottage Bears Den was very nicely decorated, bear motives everywhere inside and outsite, really cosy. Home made breakfast was delicious.Would surely recommend to others. One thing to be aware of is that it is a bit isolated so if you arrive late there is no real option for dinner there as the pizza place was closing at 8.30pm.

Room Tip: Bears den is small but very nicely decorated. Good for a couple.

My husband and I stayed here recently over the Memorial Day weekend and our accommodation and welcome exceeded our expectations. A special thank you to Matt for all his hospitality and to Nancy for her delicious food and kindness.
A place is special because of the extra mile that hosts are prepared to go - Matt was no exception to this, for along with the warm hello on arrival (and advice about where to eat, offers to book tables etc.), there were drinks and nibbles for guests in the garden around 6 pm around the fire pit – a great way great way to relax and meet our other guests and always a cheery ‘hi’ whenever our paths crossed.
Nancy cooks unusual food for breakfast – again going that extra mile, and putting up with a miserable old grouch like myself who stumbled across to the common room in desperate need of hot tea at 6 am – sorry for that Nancy!
The beds were really comfortable, the room warm and welcoming, with a refrigerator in closet part of room to store drinks, food etc., and a nice tub to soak in after a long walk. The B&B is close to Lake Tahoe, but on the western side, which is much quieter and less spoilt. Nancy was full of good advice on walks, length, height, difficulty etc.
I will certainly recommend the B&B and if ever I return I would stay again. However, it would be great to have tea/coffee making facilities in the room. I wake early and to walk across to the common room (presumably often in the snow) to make tea really isn’t something I want to do. On our first morning I was struggling with a migraine and really didn’t want to have to speak to anyone at all but could only get tea from the common room. Clearly I was in the way and Nancy wanted to get on and make breakfast.
I’m sure if we’d asked in advance we could have requested a dairy-free option for breakfast, but and as it was I managed on toast and fruit – however, it would be nice if all of the dishes provided weren’t so heavily dairy. A fruit compote, perhaps, rather then the slices of fruit that had been pre-prepared the night before.

Room Tip: All the rooms seem quiet and comfortable.

We spent a second time at Tahoma Meadows. They are totally dog friendly and there are lots of hikes and trails that both people and dogs can enjoy. The breakfasts are delicious and we bought the cook book for $15. It is filled with the breakfast receipes as well as tidbits about the staff. A wonderful time.

We loved staying here, great cottages, pet friendly, very helpful staff, really cool huge pine cones, close to the trail that goes around Lake Tahoe.
I really liked that it was away from the more crowded areas of Lake Tahoe. It was cozy and Ioved all the little Twinkle lights around.

We just got back from an awesome weekend at Tahoma Meadows! We found out about them through a Living Social voucher and are so glad we did. The cabins are adorable, clean, and cozy. We also loved the hearty and delicious breakfast that they served, plus a nice wine-and-cheese hour in the afternoons! Those little perks are so nice. Tahoma is a quiet, low-key town on the western shore of Lake Tahoe, a great place for a relaxing vacation with easy access to the Rubicon Trail, which was an absolutely gorgeous hike. You can also drive to Tahoe City very quickly for shopping, restaurants, etc. We are already talking about making this an annual vacation because we loved Tahoma Meadows so much!

This was a great choice for a weekend getaway. The room was cozy, the staff friendly, and helpful. Dogs being allowed is definitely a plus.
There is a lot to do and the area not very crowded.
I will be back!
