If you're feeling lazy, you need not leave this grape compound. They have abundant local tasings on the proerty along with a stuffy restaurant and private villas (no adjoining walls!). The villas are well appointed if not exactly large, but boast a sitting area and gas fireplace. The termostat requires an engineering degree to operate (woke in the middle of the night freezing and finally just unplugged the unit to turn it off.)

Strange that TV's location neither faced the bed or the sofa. But if you like exploring, this location is perfect as there are maybe 50 wineries within ten minutes. Perfect stumbling distance. Downtown (historic) Temecula is a good 20 minutes away.

Although Temecula is the least scenic of the wine valleys in California, if you're in Oranage County or San Diego, it makes a nice diversion.

Room Tip: Ask for the Presidential upgrade upon check-in.

We had booked a deal through Travelzoo which included wine tasting, a tour, room and breakfast. The whole package was a phenomenal deal. This is the 2nd time here at South Coast. The food was excellent, the wine is great and the tasterpours heavy handed. Happy hour was fun and the value was great. The rooms are individual bungalow's or casita's . . . whatever you would call them and are very private, large and comfortable. The only issue I have and it is with Temecula in general, is that it gets insanely crowded on the weekends. We arrived early Friday and Friday/night was much more pleasurable than Saturday. Kind of a circus on Saturday. Mid week is better for a quiet, more romantic get away.

Room Tip: Upgrade to a room with a view of the vineyards . . . beautiful views from your private balcony.

What a great place to get away and experience both quiet alone time and the pleasure of wine tasting with people who enjoy life. This "Group Therapy" was a wonderful experience, we highly recommend visiting or staying at South Coast Winery Resort. The villa was perfect, it offered everything to make a very romantic stay. (The villas have enough room to share with a family too.) Take time to do the wine pairing with Gregg, it increased our knowledge of how crucial pairing is to insure a perfect meal. They also have an amazing Happy Hour Mon. - Fri. We look forward to our next visits.

Room Tip: Ask for a room which looks out to the quiet hills.

My husband and I came here to enjoy our anniversary. We had been at this Resort's restaurant over 5 years ago and loved it then. This time, we came to rent a villa and enjoy dinner. It was excellent in every way. The villas are larger, tastefully decorated, quiet, and comfortable. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The food......just excellent in every way (breakfast and dinner)!! The staff were very friendly and helpful. Oh, and the pool/ hot tub.....perfect! We will definitely be back!

Room Tip: Ask for a villa with the back deck/patio facing the vineyards.....so romantic and lovely.

Great place to relax, the Resort is very pretty and the villas are very nice and clean. Perfect place for a weekend get away I will go back and stay at this place again. The staff is very helpful and very friendly, the restaurant is pretty good and the location allows one to visit other places and other wineries. We had a great time and it was a very good choice to celebrate our wedding anniversary.

Room Tip: Book in advance it gets busy quickly they have wedding parties
