Old town and touristy. Some stores are really dated. The hotels are run down. But some newer restaurants are actually decent like the Tap Room.

For an hour or so, step back into the Old West of the USA with a guided tour arranged through the Temecula Valley Museum, at a cost of only $2 per person. The docent will give you a brief history of Temecula Valley, along with interesting antedotes. After your 1 hour tour, return to the numerous shops and enjoy a meal at one of the numerous restaurants.

From Thanksgiving through New years Old Town Temecula sparkles! Fun place to sit and have a bite and shop. If you love Classic cars, weekends are like a rolling car show! Lots of friendly folks and fun antique and specialty shops. They have a wonderful Family friendly parade with Santa and on New Years Eve the famous Grape Drop, Year round they offer free concerts in front of City hall and they also have a wonderful community Theater with a variety of entertainment. Best Root Beer and 100's of other sodas at the root Beer store next to the Historic Palomar Hotel. Parking can be an issue at peak hours, and will soon be relieved when new parking structures are opened. But local or tourist, plenty of things to see and do for all ages.

When we first moved here, it was cute to go downtown when friends came in because of the country/saloon feel! But now it has transformed into a Urban, place to be, must see destination! WIth top notch restaurants, great shopping, store front with loft dwellings, wonderful events; we go every weekend when we are just hanging out! Summer nights bring the "live music" in every bar/restaurant and street corner on Friday nights which we go try new places as much as possible. Then we try and hit the farmers market every Saturday morning. We walk around town few times for exercise and then go to farmers market to get fresh squeezed OK, a break fast crepe or Gyro to share and then buy all of our weekly, locally grown, vegetables…. It has blossomed into a destination and we love it!!
