We went during fall so one side was a serene view of the water and on the other side was the beautiful lush garden with fall colours! Best time to visit. There was hardly anybody and so the quietness made it even better!

“Gorgeous Park and Amazing Views!”
Reviewed 4 September 2013

I recently visited this park on a trip to SF. The grounds are very beautiful and the views are amazing! We saw deer roaming the park when we there. Walking out on the pier the views were even better. Paradise Rd getting to the park is very windy and it's easy to drive past the park entrance (like we did) but it is well worth a visit!

“Beautiful location”
Reviewed 21 May 2013

We hosted a family member's outdoor wedding reception at this park. The park staff were very helpful, even loading up our event things into a golf cart style vehicle and driving them to our event's location within the park, so we didn't have to hand-carry everything.

The parking is limited and it is $10 per car to park, so if you are coming as a large group, combine into fewer cars for easier/less expensive parking. If you wish to park outside the park and walk in, then the fees are $2 per person (but I am not sure where outside the park you would park a car and walk from since it is on a two-lane winding road.)

The view of the bay and bay bridge is amazing from the park. The area that we reserved was the bay side picnic area which is furthest from the parking area, but right along the waterfront by the fishing pier. There are shade trees in this picnic area and several BBQ pits.

The park is well-maintained with clean restrooms. The walkway down from the parking area to the picnic areas is paved, but steep. The park closes promptly at 7 p.m., so plan accordingly.

“Second time here - spent our days fishing!”
Reviewed 1 October 2012

I went to Paradise the first time with my now husband two years ago. We went fishing. The park is beautiful, well maintained - the bathrooms are clean, and there is drinking fountains. In the morning and evenings deer graze on the lawns. The park workers are VERY friendly and helpful. We took my son with us this year - he had never ocean fished. We all caught Bat Rays - which are a lot of fun to bring in - and some work too! We always catch and release - even at home, so this wasn't an issue. We caught some rock crabs and a few skate. The views of the bay bridge are wonderful, and the canyon to get to the park is pretty too. I would highly reccommend this for an afternoon lunch, or fishing, if your into that - there is a bait shop close by.
