“Nicer than I thought it would be”
Reviewed 29 September 2012

I have never stayed in a Best Western Plus, so I didn't know what to expect. I have, however, stayed in a Best Western on road trips, so did not expect much. Well...if this hotel is representative of all Best Western Plus hotels, I would be more than happy to stay at another one!

This was an all suite hotel, which was nice. The suite part of the hotel contained a kitchenette with a minifridge (a nice new one that could fit a full sized gallon of milk if needed), a microwave, a sink and some cabinets. As I was staying here for 3 days due to a fumigation of my apartment, this kitchenette was a lifesaver! There was also a nice desk and chair with a port to connect to internet.

Breakfast was included, and had some eggs, hashbrowns, bacon and do it yourself waffles and cereal. It did not change from day to day and there was canned fruit and not fresh fruit. I would say that it is better than your usual roadside motel breakfast, but not as good as an Embassy Suites breakfast. I got tired of it after the first day. Also, the fact that it ended at 9am, made it a bit difficult since I like to sleep in.

Parking is complimentary and plentiful. The location is a nice one, close to the Del Amo mall, gas stations and lots of places to eat at.

Room was clean and bed was comfy. Tons of pillows. Only draw back was that the bathroom did not have a tub, it was a standing shower only. I did like the sink area which was outside of the bathroom.

For tourists, I wouldn't pick this location for the typical LA sightseeing as it is far away from Hollywood. However, if you just want to hit the beach, it is not too far away, about a 5-10 min. drive.

Staff was nice. Check-in was quick and efficient.

I would stay here again if I needed to. The only deductions are: no pool, thin walls, slow elevator.

We stayed at this bright, clean and cheerful hotel from Aug 26 to Aug 30 (4 nights) and looked forward to coming home to our oasis in Torrance every night after our LA exploits. The hotel is almost 4 yrs old but feels like new! We met the maintenance man and he spoke with pride about keeping his hotel beautiful and clean - we couldn`t agree more! The carpets still look and smell new! The lady in the breakfast room (you will know her - she`s the dark haired one, always smiling, always greeting her guests, always ready to help with extra orange juice, peanut butter, napkins and even making your waffles for you if she sees that you`re a newbie) is AMAZING! She really deserves her tips in the tip jar, which we noticed was always full, courtesy of her happy customers! We certainly tipped her every day and my dad, who`s a tightwad, says that she deserves every dollar! Housekeeping was wonderful and the rooms were always kept clean, tidy, fresh and well-stocked with toiletries and towels. Even the night concierge was so nice - I think his name was Brian - he was always so polite, helpful and welcoming that he made you smile even though we always walked through the door late at night, so weary from our touristy travels. The convenient location (close to the highway and close to Redondo Beach) and free parking really made this hotel a top notch choice. The decor was quite cool and elegant, with lots of greys and muted blues. Although my daughter was initially critical of this sophisticated palette (given her preference for browns, yellows and gold), she too fell in love with the niceness of the staff and the modern beauty of this hotel. This hotel should really be rated No. 1. If you`re planning a trip to LA, this is the hotel for you!

We stayed at this hotel for Labor Day weekend. The hotel offered a full breakfast (not a restaurant type of buffet but not bad). The room had a microwave and fridge. You can get to the beach - its about 5 miles down the road. This hotel is nice but I would consider getting a hotel much closer to the beach next time (best western) - the price may be comparable.

Room Tip: I do not recall seeing a pool but don't count that out.

I agree with the other reviews. It's a very nice hotel if you need to stay in this area. The neighborhood is all chains and strip malls, nothing exciting. The hotel is one more space in this mix. Rooms are small suites with a kitchenette, desk, couch, bed area, sink in bed area and toilet and shower in separate room. Everything is clean and in good shape. Kitchenette had no plates, siverware or glasses, rather odd. Decent internet axis, typical good buffet breakfast.

Room Tip: Halls can be long so if that matters for you check of a room near the elevator.

The hotel was convenient for business. The room was just what we needed, with a small kitchenette, decent-sized vanity area and separate bath, and adequate desk space. It was also decorated nicely. The beds are okay, but I am a fussy sleeper. We did not use the couch, but the small living area was nice.

We did not have to deal with a noisy weekend crowd, but saw a noisy group checking in on the Saturday we left. If there is a problem, I hope the staff will address it.

Our only complaints are that no one explained the wifi at check in, so ask. Also, the breakfasts are barely average and there is a staff person on duty who was pretty nasty about taking breakfast back to our room, where we had to prepare for work. Lighten up!

Stayed for two nights. Hotel is new and very clean. I had no problem. A bit over priced. Free internet and breakfast is extra value. Friendly housekeeping staff. Good location close to all your daily needs. Many security cameras around for extra piece of mind. Good sleep quality. Comfortable bed.
