We booked this motel through Hotwire. The deal we got was okay - $65/night + taxes and fees. On Hotwire, we booked 2 rooms for 6 adults. We could not specify what kinds of beds we would need on Hotwire, but any sane person would book us into two double bed rooms. At the very least 2 double beds and one king.
When we arrived, they put us into 2 king rooms, one of which was a smoking room. None of us are smokers. The staff was completely unapologetic and they couldn't even provide a rollaway bed. Even if they were fully booked, they should have anticipated that this arrangement would not have worked before they made the room assignments.
I called Hotwire and was able to get full refund from them. They were able to rebook me for the second night, but we had to stick with the Super 8 for the first night. All three men in one room with one king sized bed and all three women in another room in another king sized bed. I failed to mention that we're all 60 - 75 year old seniors who are 3 couples.
What a disaster. The worse part was how the the management treated us - with total disrespect and lack of empathy.
This is an old hotel in an old neighbourhood. The hotel is showing its aging though one can appreciate the efforts of maintenance by the crew. Things are very basic there, and some stuff do not meet our expectations, such as bathroom door cannot be fully shut, bath drainage is a bit slow, the lack of desk lamp, bath towel a bit worn.... But nothing really bad did happen after all, and I do not really regret this short stopover stay we have.
