Great tour. From start to finsh a great tour. The tour guides (Colin & Nikky) made us welcome and explained it all as we went from the safety briefing, donned the hardhats and then visited the Reactors, Control Room, Turbines and Generators plus seeing the cooling water inlets from the sea. Make the effort and see where the power we all use comes from.

I had the pleasure of visiting Dungeness Power Station as an accompanying adult with a group of about 30 14/15 year olds. Seldom have I been anywhere that kept us so well entertained, the staff guides (John and Donna) were very knowledgeable and had the children thoroughly engrossed in the day to day running of a huge power station. The surrounding area is beautiful and well worth the visit in itself. I would go back, it was a brilliant and educational day out in a fascinating part of the world.

This power station can be seen on the shingled headland. Lots of plants and wildlife around. Nearby fishermans cottages.
We saw the power plant on our day trip traveling by the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch railway.

These building dominate the skyline and make interesting backdrops to photography on the beach. There is a visitor centre if you have time but you may need to pre-book your visit.

We had hoped to have a tour of the AGR power station. While you can still just turn up at the visitor centre and look around the exhibition it is not possible to just turn up for a tour. For security reasons you now have to book three weeks in advance so they can check you out. Tours only take place on certain days too.
