Stayed one night with friends so took both bedrooms, each room is of a very good size, well decorated, fresh and clean with quality fixtures and fittings, great shower [royal room]
Rural location so no problem getting a good nights sleep, so quiet.

A well run pub with great food and two local real ales makes this a fantastic place to stay.

Thanks

Graeme

I've always wanted to take the wife away to the Cotswolds and stay in a traditional pub inn,and when I came across the horse guards I knew straight away from the photos that this was going to be the one,and I wasn't disappointed.Arthur and Janette were very welcoming and they couldn't do enough for us,the food was out of this world and is some of the best we have tasted, they certainly have a very good chef. The room we stayed in was spotless and the shower was awesome,we had our four legged friend stay with us and was welcome in the bar area,Arthur and Janette deserve every success in the future and I wish them all the best,we will definitely be visiting again

We had a great time staying at the Horse Guards with our 2 dogs, the food and beer were excellent, we loved the room we stayed in, and breakfast was also excellent.
Arthur and Janette are very friendly and run a pub like a pub should be run, we will return one day soon.

We stayed for one night as we were visiting the local area. The room was immaculate - exceptionally clean, tea/coffee facilities in room, flat screen tv and free wifi. Very comfortable bed. Super bathroom with huge shower. The bedroom and en-suite looked as if it had been recently refurbished. The menu was extensive and both the evening meal and breakfast were very tasty. The owners made my husband & I (incl our two dogs) feel very welcome. We will be staying again. A gem!

My wife and I had the privilege to stay at the Horse guards on the 27 th Oct while visiting Malmesbury
The owners are an extremely friendly and convivial couple and their staff likewise and all ensured our stay was a very happy one

The selection of real Ales ,the excellent and varied menu and the 1st class accommodation combined in our opinion to provide what we believe is one of the best options for anyone to stay in the Cotswolds area

We have there fore no hesitation in recommending the Horse Guards to anyone who is looking to stay in this area

What a great review from great guests! This couple were on a history weekend in nearby Malmesbury and it was our genuine pleasure to host them as guests. It is no understatement when yet again pointing out that it is guests such as these who make our jobs easier and more enjoyable. We are more than grateful for their kind words and very much hope we may not have seen the last of them. Thank you very much from all at The Horse Guards.

Stayed for one night and wished it was more. The room we had was excellent, the local ale, the wine, and especially the dinner all matched the accommodation. A real find. Just wish I was more local so that we could visit more often.

Room Tip: There are two rooms. We had the Royal. Very smart and very comfortable.

We broke our journey on the way to wales at the horse guard. What a lovely surprise, the owners were warm and welcoming as were the locals. The food was rustic, hot and honestly english pub food. The rooms were very clean.

Another big thank you from all of the team to delightful guests kind enough to submit such a complimentary review. It is as a country pub that we set our stall out and we always hope that our less than formal approach strikes a comfortable chord for our guests. Certainly it gives us pleasure as well when locals and visitors can rub amicable shoulders. The feedback from our locals was equally flattering. We hope the trip to Wales wasn't ruined by the weather. Thank you again.
