I spent a week, beginning june 20, at the Coffee Creek Guest Ranch. It was relaxing and fun and i learned to ride a horse! I'm a new horseback rider so I appreciated the training session the wranglers gave us on our horses in the arena begore our first ride. They take good care of their horses and matched them to us according to our riding ability.
The setting is beautiful in the mtn canyon with coffee creek running in front of the ranch. You can swim in the clear, cold creek water, or in the pool. All the staff were friendly and theycreated an atmosphere were everyone talked to one another. Our chef, Brian, cooked delicious meals and both he and Ruth, our other cook, seemed to easily accommodate my gluten-free diet. One evening we had fun line dancing with a professional caller and another night we enjoyed hot chocolate, popcorn, and s'mores around a campfire.
You're off the grid and cell service doesn't work which i loved. It was a great getaway. If you go, give yourself a day or so to adjust to rural life - the dark, creek sounds, dirt paths, and wildlife which you may or may not see - and leave the city behind..
