Owner description: RIVINO Winery is located between the Russian River and Highway 101 in Mendocino County. Our facility truly is a boutique, and although small, we have ensured that all our equipment and processes are of the highest levels possible. From the beginning of harvest through the end of bottling we ensure that the grapes and juice are minimally handled, and only in the gentlest of ways. The RIVINO Tasting Room is open 7 days a week 10-5.We look forward to your visit!

I'm local and have my choice of visiting one of 100+ wineries in Mendocino County. Yep, there are that many. If you want sip excellent wine and enjoy a million dollar view, this is the place. I enjoy the friendly atmosphere and I LOVE all of the wines. They are made in small lots with great care. If your lucky you might even get to meet Benny the beagle. :) This is a spot not to be missed.

This is a very nice family vineyard. I only wish it was a Friday since they have music and happy hour so we could have stayed longer. We visited on a Saturday afternoon and sampled their wonderful wines. Fell for the Viognier. Bought a bottle and thought, why won't PA permit wine to be shipped into our state. Would have joined Rivino's wind club in a heartbeat. Great tasting and visit.

Imagine your husband starts making wine in the barn and can't stop. If he is making award winning Viognier, then tell him to go for it. If your husband isn't this guy, stop by Rivino Family winery for a bottle or six or 12. Viognier is a white wine grape that Rivino transforms into a slightly more sweet than dry, flavorful wine that reminds you of a sunny day's picnic in your grandparent's orchard with all family and friends sitting around bread, cheese, fruit, cold chicken and salads. Not bad, considering it was a raining cats and dogs on a pretty cold day in October when we dropped by.

Located right off (and I do mean immediately off) highway 101, Rivino is a small family owned winery with a few very good varietals and one very great viognier wine. The open air tasting "room" is on a small deck overlooking the vines. Not fancy, but the price of a bottle doesn't include the all too common "chateau markup" of the bigger vinyards. If you want a chateau, there are five other wineries within a couple of miles of Hopland, If you want voseigner, stop here.

Parents come into town for a visit. Went to Rivino Winery to visit. Loved it. Staff was great. Very family like atmosphere. Staff makes you feel at home. Rivino made a nice impression with the hospitality and mannerism. Wonderful place and great wine of course.

We recently stopped at Rivino after getting a complimentary tasting pass from Vichy Springs Resort. They have a lovely outdoor seating area where we went for the tasting. The view of the rolling hills and vineyards was quite stunning. They had a nice misting system for the outside seating area, which was really great for the heat. Suzanne (wife of the winemaker) was our host. She's knowledgeable about the wine and the area and she hung out with us for about an hour as we tasted with some other guests. She mentioned that they have Friday night happy hours there, which seemed like it would have been fun to do.

While we enjoyed the wine, we were a bit bummed at how expensive it was. I don't think there was a bottle of red under $28. We did buy a bottle of the Cab Franc, which was very unique and had a smoky flavor to it, it was great. But we would have bought more if the price point was a bit lower.

Still, we enjoyed everything else about the place, bought a glass of wine to enjoy after our tasting and would certainly go back.
