This was a great find in a small town that doesn't have a lot of choices. The restaurant itself is smallish and most of the tables are small and for 2-4 people but the room is small so that's to be expected. The menu is very large, there are 24 items on the A La Carta menu and 56 items on the dinner menu not including the kids menu, the dessert menu and the breakfast and salad menu... There were 4 of us and we each ordered something different, I had the Shrimp Quesadilla ($8.50) which had 12 shrimp, jack cheese, sour cream, salsa and quacamole . My husband had Beef Tongue ($9.50) which had a huge pile of tender chunks of tongue topped with onions, cilantro and green sauce with beans, rice and fresh hot tortillas. My son had Camarones a la Diabla ($11.95) Shrimp in a hot red sauce with beans, rice and salad, sour cream, guacamole and hot corn or flour tortillas. My 12 year old grandson ordered the Super Nachos ($6.75) and it was huge! It had small cubes of tender beef not hamburger, beans, cheese, sour cream, quacamole and salsa. We all tried each others food and none of us was disappointed in the quality or flavor of the food. The Camarones a la Diabla was spicy but not so spicy you couldn't taste the freshness and flavor of the shrimp, the Quesadilla was the best I have ever had...seriously, and it wasn't floating in gravy either it was dry. (you can ask for gravy if you like it wet.) The waitress was knowledgeable and was easily able to answer our questions, she was friendly and helpful and familiar with the backgrounds of the owners as well as the chefs and talked about the types of food they served. She was on the ball with drinks and got us what we needed quickly and was very friendly. The only reason I didn't give the restaurant 5 stars is because it lost one star for the cosmetic appeal of the dining room. There were the usual small town assortment of free newspapers, business cards etc. The decor was cute and Mexican themed without being over the top but the "stuff" that cluttered up the counters and such made it seem kind of "waffle shopish" .
