Due to the Laguna Seca race week, we were stuck going to watsonville at the Economy inn.
we were charged $ 169.00 a nite and as people were calling the operator kept increasing prices to the last call 199.00 I believe the caller hang-up.
This is a motel that first I would never stay, but most important $ 39.00 should be the max they could charge. I would rather camp along the freeway.
Dirty room, bathroom with cigarette burns all over the tub, NO CLOSET, just a rod over the microwave with 2 hangers

Room Tip: no room is a good room in this hotel

Very run down motel in uninspiring part of pretty uninspiring town. The room was large and the bed/TV etc were all fine, but it was very dirty. The shower was filthy, there was a blood stain on the wall and when my fiance washed her hands on our arrival and dried them on the hand towel, her hands reeked of wet dog. Additionally there was all sorts of comings and goings of cars and people during the night in a few of the rooms nearby, and I had the strong impression they were not paying guests. The owner was friendly and helpful, but the whole place felt like it was being 'run' by a couple of slightly dodgy high-school boys. Suitable for a travelling salesman, who doesn't mind grime, for one night. Only.

We live in the South Bay and the weather was so nice on Saturday, that we decided to spend the night in the area, so that we could go to the beach again on Sunday.

The place is nothing special, but hey, for $60, that's all you can expect. We asked to be charged less and were given a price of $50. At night it was really loud: people gather outside and talk until 3-4 a.m. Other than that, it was OK. Our room had a microwave.

I def would recommend this hotel! I came into town for a wedding and this place offered us a room with 2 queen beds for only 79.00! That is a great rate compared to other places we called. The place was clean and the couple who was managing the place seemed very nice and helpful. Altough they had some free coffee, fruit and pastries we chose to have breakfast across the street at the Red Apple cafe, which was delicious! ( I recommend the crab cake benedict!) My favorite part about this hotel was that they let me have my dog in my room, we hate leaving her home for trips longer than a day so we were so pleased to know she could come with us.

We are a vendors who did the strawberry festival in Watsonville.
We paid over $130 for unsanitary rooms. The three chairs in the room had food grounded into them, stained and gross, The walls had food marks on them. The bathrooms were clean enough to stand for a shower I must say and the toilet was clean. The sheets had all kinds of old stains on them but clean . . The floor we all kept our socks or shoes on. The continental breakfast consist of coffee and one packaged pastry. This place was our last resort all others were booked or charging way to much for one star motels. Didn't see any bug's though! For $39 it would be excusable but not $130, Ripped off..

As car-oriented travellers in the scenic Monterey Bay area, this little motel offered us a great budget alternative to the inflated accommodation prices around Monterey, Carmel, and Santa Cruz. For $70 we got a king bed room that would cost at least $130 in Monterey.

Located just off highway 101 in Watsonville, we found we could use this place as a base for visits to Monterey (30 minutes), Carmel (40), and the Big Sur area (less than an hour). Santa Cruz is even closer. Moss Landing, with its whale watching tours, harbour, beaches, nature reserve, and restaurants, is only a few minutes down the road.

On three separate stays, we found the motel to be remarkably clean and well run. While the place looked mundane on the outside, the rooms were clean and comfortable. The Indian family that runs the place (they live on site) seems to take pride in the operation and the value offered to its increasing base of repeat customers. Reservations, check-in, and check-out were handled efficiently and honestly.

The motel's location on a side street just off Main Street, sandwiched between car lots, was quiet at night. The area felt secure. The parking area is huge, room for everyone to park right in front of their own door.

While the motel offered token coffee, juice, and pastries each morning, we chose to walk across the street to the Red Apple -- a classic breakfast-and-lunch diner very popular with the locals.
