Now the Weaverville Victorian Inn. And it is surprising what can happen when a national franchise goes away.
My luck has been better than average with BW - but this place appears to be slowly running down.
Plus - soiled be covers, & the last customers dirty town and coffee left in the pot did little to impress.

After driving by it for several years while on business trips to the area we thought we would stay the night here instead of driving down the hill to Redding.
The lobby is very quaint the way it is decorated with some pretty hats, little tables with lamps on them and a couple of chairs. The is also the area where you have your breakfast in the morning. It's a very simple breakfast, the usual. However, there's no where to sit other than the couple of chairs they have in the lobby. No tables to sit at to eat your breakfast.
You can't use the little frigs they have in the rooms because they are so rusty inside of them. The bathrooms are in need of being deep cleaned. The dirty bathroom is because of lazy housekeepers that have not been checked on. It looks like they just went in and did a quick wipe and left. The entire hotel needs a lot of repairs done to it. It need a lot of TLC.
But what is the worse thing of all is that the hotel is surround in a junk yard. It is such an eye sore. There is so much rubbish and broken down things and bits and piece laying everywhere, even a broken down old trailer sitting there. If someone cared enough to take the time to clean this property up it could be a little gold mine. I don't know where Best Western comes in on the name of this hotel because it's a far cry from being a Best Western.

Room Tip: Easy don't stay there.

I was surprised to open this page and see the Weaverville Victorian Inn branded as Best Western as I saw no such branding and it was not on my Best Western Directory and is not listed as a California Best Western Hotel on the Best Western Website. It is certainly not up to Best Western standards and I imagine it has been "delisted". I suggest Trip Advisor check this out. A photo is below and nothing says "Best Western", neither did their business card or anything in the reception or room.
The whole hotel is dated and run down and needs a total make over. It is located on the outskirts of town. The receptionists on arrival and leaving were matter of fact and not particularly interested although the one redeeming feature was the recommendation of Le Grange Restaurant for dinner, which although full had good service and good food. The room was small and there was noise from adjoining rooms and two power points did not work. Bed was quite comfortable.
Cannot say much about the Continental breakfast as there was not much to comment on. Some cereal, toast, tea and coffee and apples. One side of the old toaster did not work. No table to sit at and we were given a small tray to take it back to the room.
Unfortunately a better looking Motel closer to town was full.
Don't think there would be much return business here

Room Tip: See if other Motels in town which look nice, have a vacancy.

I would not stay there again. Front desk were not helpful except 1. The free breakfast in the morning was bags of cereal, milk that was warm sitting out on the table. Never found bagel or bread to toast and when there was no coffee and asked for some to be made, was told no because they were closing it down in 15 min. Half the outlet in the room did not work and the ones that did, the plugs would not stay in them. If you do go there, bring your own towels. There towels r so thin and small. Molding was coming off the walls. We found the ice machine and was told he broke down the week before but it look like it had been down for a long time. Overall I would not go back and would not recommended anyone staying there.

We had not stayed at this hotel in quite a few years, and after reading the reviews we were a little concerned but figured it was just for one night. We were pleasantly surprised when we were greeted by a warm staff. We arrived in the early afternoon, during a holiday weekend and the desk apologized that our room wasn't quite ready. We were offered coffee, hot chocolate or hot cider while we waited. We were traveling with two other couples and our request for three rooms together was graciously accommodated. After an hour, our nicely sized room was ready. Room was very clean with a refrigerator and microwave. Perfect for our needs.

Room Tip: We stayed upstairs...there aren't that many stairs!

We spent 2 nights here, mainly because there are little other options and the pictures looked really nice online. Once we arrived (later in the evening) and checked in (not a very warm reception), we proceeded to our Jacuzzi room. VERY old and dated, with a distinct old aroma. The furniture is worn out, the Jacuzzi tub was not cleaned well (some leftover hair in it) and I had to clean it out before using it. The bed was comfortable, but the old foam-type blanket had several cigarette burns in it and some cuts. We slept with just the sheet. The water pressure for the Jacuzzi was extremely slow and it was hard to regulate the temperatures. The continental breakfast was very basic -- English muffins, plain bagels, cereal, fruit, coffee and milk and juice in gallon jugs in the fridge. There was nowhere to sit except for two easy chairs in the area. The woman at the front desk on the morning we left was friendly. I feel that if you have a name like "Victorian Inn" that the furnishings should reflect the style. Money definitely needs to be put into this motel to make it more attractive...new blankets, updated furnishings, updated bedspreads and curtains. Also, please make sure the Jacuzzi tub is spotless when guests arrive. This motel would be worth more towards the $59 per night range than the $98 we were charged.

Room Tip: Don't spend the money on the Jacuzzi room.

Spent several nights here, all in a fairly comfortable bed. Room had no odors, but had some wear (tile around jacuzzi tub, door dings, loose shower valve).
The staff was very friendly and accomodating, which is greatly appreciated.
