After looking for a nice restaurant in LA to celebrate my daughters post-graduation in film studies, my family and I decided to go to Gordon Ramsey. We were a bit suspicious that it could have more fame than really content, but actually not.

The restaurant didn´t disappoint, and we had a great time. The environment is simple and yet classy, the food was great, specially the desserts and we got an excellent waiter who could not be more attentive. The grandma was delighted with his friendliness and his service was quite effective.

Knowing that we were celebrating my daughter´s graduation, the restaurant offered her a piece of cake with congratulations written. It was a sensitive touch.

We departed with good memories from there.

My sister and I went here for the afternoon tea. To be fair, I was comparing this against several tea services that I went to on my last trip to London. Overall, the food and tea were pretty tasty. The disappointment came in the overall selection. We each were allowed to have one tea (in London, you usually can have as many flavors as you want) and there was one tower for both of us. About three finger sandwiches each, one scone and one dessert. (again, I was used to each person having their own tower and if you wanted, as much as you could eat). It was a fun time and overall the food was good, but a far cry from the real thing and not really worth the price.

After experiencing exceptionally fabulous meals at Gordon Ramsay's Maze in London, England and at his Steak in Las Vegas, Nevada, we were excited to try his restaurant at the London in West Hollywood, CA. Had dinner there to celebrate a birthday which the restaurant had been advised of when our dinner reservation was made.
It is a much smaller restaurant than the other 2 restaurants we have been to. The service was okay, but nothing to brag about. The attentiveness of the staff was lacking compared to the other 2 restaurants. Possibly because it was a much smaller restaurant with a smaller staff.
We ordered Beef Wellington which we were advised would be cooked medium rare. It was actually cooked rare to almost uncooked in the center. The pastry around the beef was essentially devoid of any filling. The chef certainly did not follow Gordon Ramsey's recipe which you can see on YouTube.
The meat was not seared; there were no mushrooms and chestnut pate wrapped around the beef.
Although we were there to celebrate a birthday, the restaurant did nothing to acknowledge the celebration. When we asked about that, we were told that if we ordered dessert, they would do something. That's pretty rude for any restaurant.
If we had gone to this Gordon Ramsey restaurant before Maze or Steak, we would not go to any other Gordon Ramsey restaurants.
