This place is unbelievable. Their lollipop salad thing (forget the exact name) was one of the best salads that I had ever eaten. Every single thing we ordered was delicious and the interior is really cool too. Definitely one of the trendiest restaurants in LA. Try to eat in the back outside if you can it's beautiful.

I love to taste lots of different foods and flavors and so small plate restaurants are always on my list of places to try. Laurel Hardware didn't disappoint. There were 3 of us and we had lots of plates. We started with a white mushroom pizza - two types of mushrooms and perfect thin crust. Yummy. Then we had blistered tomatoes with bur rata and really delicious pork ribs. The squash blossoms and the lollipop sprouts were great but we were disappointed with the prosciutto and the pork belly.
We sat in the front room at a lovely corner table, nice and quiet, wide open window and a great view of all the activity outside. One comment I would make is that the lilies around the room were past their prime.

I really have to say it is breaking my heart to say this but this place became bad.
I came in June 2013 and had a wonderful experience. As i understand, they had open recently.
I came back this june 2014 and i got really really disppointed.
When you like a place, you can bear with an annoying waitress or an over expensive drink but what i cannot forgive them is just that the food was just really bad, tasteless. I will never go back.

Seems like much of LA's trendy hangouts have an affinity to shabby chic décor and this place is no exception. The front portion used to be a hardware store, hence the name, and the furnishing is eclectic in a shabby chic sort of way. It's however, not the best part of the restaurant which is at the back where there is a large bar area and a back garden. The place was packed when I was there and had a very good crowd. It's the sort of place where a young party-going crowd would dress up, go and be seen. Most people were in groups so if you don't want to be left out you really need to be able to strike up a conversation fast or go with friends. Atmosphere was generally friendly and cheerful.

hate to just say "ditto", but i can't add much to all the glowing reviews of this newish and truly wonderful spot. charming service, relaxed young vibe even for us old folks, terrific food (soft shell crabs, small steak to share, brussels sprouts pops nothing short of divine, great craft cocktails, and a general feeling of welcome i've rarely experienced in a place with such big buzz, in a town full of very buzzy spots. HAVE THE BUTTERSCOTCH for dessert! it is a simple presentation that belies a complex and fabulous overall flavor/texture sensation. kudos to everyone who put this spot on the map!
