The hotel quite often offers cheap rates just above 100$. For that you get a decent place:

+ spacious rooms
+ nice breakfast until 11am
+ valet for only 9$
+ fairly recent room interior
+ silent aircon

- avoid rooms facing the highway

Main plus: Great service. We first had one of the room facing the highway. As we requested a more silent one, facing the other side, they made it possible even so the hotel was sold out an it was already 11pm. That is the good Hyatt standard.

Our 2 day stay at this hotel in mid-July was very pleasant. Rooms were clean, showers worked well, nice pool, etc. Hotel is generally very quite. The restaurant and bar are very good and staff is responsive. Only thing is , our reservation for 2-queen beds was not available at those nights and they couldn't honor the request. We had to put up with 1 king bed with a teenage boy and a teenage daughter.

My family and I stayed at the Hyatt Westlake Village for one night for a convention. The lobby was spacious, lots of place to sit and relax and mingle. We stayed in the California Suite which we found was a perfect size for my son, wife and I. They provided a crib and were very accommodating. The restaurant downstairs was great for breakfast and had enough choices to choose from. The hotel also has a very nice pool area to sit around and relax and it was relatively quiet/calm compared to some other hotel pools. The one thing that the hotel was lacking was a concierge lounge, so being a Hyatt Diamond member, I was a bit disappointed but they made up for it with complimentary breakfast. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and will be returning this year.

Where to start... 2 big weddings going on the weekend we were at this hotel. One was a 3 day wedding, culminating on Saturday. We arrived Friday night after a 7 hour drive from Phoenix. We were really looking forward to throwing open our balcony door and getting some cool, fresh air. We had booked the more expensive balcony room - the balcony is a decent size, but not a chair in sight. So I guess if you like to stand on a balcony, then it fits the bill. Once I opened the sliding door of room 456 the loud drone of an air handler hit me in the face - when I looked down I saw that there were actually 4 air handlers - NOT A QUIET ROOM unless you keep the door shut. We immediately asked to be moved as we were hoping to sleep with the windows open. The only other room they had was the room 2 down from ours - right over the loading dock, while not the drone of the air handlers, in the few minutes we were in the room, there was a constant beeping noise of a truck backing up and also lots of banging from the loading dock... at this point we were just tired and wanted to unpack so we went back to our original room. The front desk apologized and said they would send up a fruit platter for our inconvenience. 2 hours later, no fruit platter and it never showed up during our stay. Next, we wanted to relax with a bottle of wine, but no openers in the room, so they said they would send one up, 30 mins later, no opener, so I went to the front desk to grab the opener; again the staff apologized and stated that they had "several weddings going on and were very busy". The next day were out of toilet paper and the front desk said they would send housekeeping up "right away"... you can guess it was a half an hour later and no toilet paper, again same excuse (no one answered in housekeeping so we finally had to wander the halls and find someone from housekeeping to help us). The staff was not good at setting wait time expectations, I understand that weddings happen, but they should mention when you check in that there might be long wait times - every time we asked for something they said "right away". The last day we called for someone to help with our bags and they said again, "right away", I told them if it was going to be 30 mins, we would just go ahead and carry our own bags, they assured me someone would be up "right away". 15 mins later a bell boy showed up and told us that he had to help another guest and he would be right back - 20 mins later the same apologetic bell boy showed to help us with our luggage. Everyone at the hotel tried very hard, but they seemed ill equipped to handle any of the other guests outside the weddings. My guess is if you stayed here any time other than when there was a wedding going on, the service would be better.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms 456 and all others on that side of the hotel on floors 3 and 4

Dear QweenB,

Thank you very much for taking the time to share about your weekend stay. Most importantly, I want to apologize that your stay with us was not relaxing. Please know that your experience does not meet our expectations either. The detail you gave provides us great insight as to where we need to provide additional training to our staff members and prepare better for very busy weekends.

I would like to personally invite you back in the future to experience the personal touch that so many of our guests love. If you are willing, please email me directly so that we can discuss your future stay.

Thank you,

The Hyatt needs to spend some money on new beds so you don't disturb your partner every time you roll over. This is an expensive area, I expected the basics of a bed to be much better quality. In room coffee, at least 1 cup would have been nice.
