“Sorbet and beer...”
Reviewed 23 April 2013

The Old Abalone Pub is not old and is a really a restaurant fronting the Westport Hotel. It is well-staffed, friendly, and upscale, but not too upscale. We didn't eat there. but the drafts were cold, I found the wine selection eclectic and reasonable, and they have something for all but the pickiest diners.
Oh, we had a lovely grapefruit sorbet with our beers. Cheers!

“Best meal of our trip”
Reviewed 11 March 2013

We ate here because we were staying in the Bed and Breakfast, of which this is a part. I have lived on the coast and know that crab cakes are supposed to be made of crab with breadcrumbs on the outside for crispiness, not as filler, and you almost never get that in a restaurant. But here we did. Three of us ate here and we all agreed that the food was the best of our trip down the coast from the San Juan Islands to San Francisco. The pub has a casual feeling and food good enough for the fanciest of settings. For me, that is the best of both worlds. On top of that the prices are reasonable. Someday, I hope to be back here.

“Highest quality and service”
Reviewed 29 November 2012

We had two visits recently (11/2012) to dine at the Westport Hotel and Old Abalone Pub.
Both were wonderful. Brunch was spectacularly perfect. Poached eggs in several
dishes were worth a photo.

The dinners were excellent in all ways. Beautiful decor. Great service. Ling Cod and vegetarian lasagna were great.

All food is of exceptionally high quality -- the presentations are elegant. Intimate atmosphere.

A truly beautifully restored coastal inn.

A worthy member of the best of the best in northern california coastal dining and lodging.
Prices are astonishingly reasonable for the highest quality. Check out their website at westporthotel.us.
