We stayed in the Summer House Cabin, and friends stayed in the Fish Camp Cabin. The whole place can't be beat; very clean and comfortable with some great design elements. Extreme attention to detail, plus a great value. Far and away the nicest accomodations in Willow Creek. These cabins would be considered high-end even by Napa Valley Standards.

My husband and I stayed at the 'Spa' cottage over Labor Day in 2008. We wanted to go up to Humboldt/Trinity county to do some whitewater rafting and enjoy the outdoors. The cottages (there are 5 of them) are on the outskirts of a very small town, Willow Creek, which is in a very scenic location about 1 hour drive east of Eureka/Arcata. It looks as if 4 of the 5 cottages are brand new (the 'Tao' looks to be older and not as nice).

The interior of the Spa cottage was beautifully decorated, with a huge king bed with soft linens and a down comforter. The entire place was very tastefully decorated, like a luxury hotel. There is a fireplace (non-operational at the time, but it was summer) with leather chairs around it, and big new bathroom with a separate room for tub and shower. The entire cottage is loft-like, great for a couple but you wouldn't want to have more people than that b/c it is pretty open. There is also a little convenience kitchen, with microwave, sink and fridge. There is a huge, screened in porch with a huge new grill with a side-burner, so you basically have a full kitchen.

Spa cottage was in the best location compared to the other cottages - over on the far side of the property looking at some trees with a bit of a river view. Some of the other cottages, notably the 'Fish Camp', seemed a little crowded in. The location of Coho Cottages is close to town, so if you are looking for a completely isolated cabin this probably isn't right for you. You can walk about 3 minutes to the local grocery store, but also a park and river access is walking distance just down the road.

People in the town were SUPER friendly. The owners are long-time Willow Creek residents and also own Bigfoot Rafting. I never actually met the owners, Mark and Londa, because the don't like onsite at the cottages (they just give you a code for the door when you reserve the cottage). But we were stopped twice by Willow Creek residents asking if we were staying at the Cottages, and welcoming us to town. The California forest fires hit this area pretty hard this year, but you can't see it until you drive about 10 miles further East from Willow Creek. The business was defintiely welcome after a tough tourism year.

I highly recommend Coho Cottages for a relaxing and romantic getaway.

We stayed in the "Promontory" cottage at the Coho Cottages in Willow Creek. The cottage featured a pine ceiling with 2 skylights, hardwood floor, an enormous shower with a spa type sunflower shower head, a jetted bathtub, 2 sinks with mirrors in a separate room from the shower/tub. The bed was divine - firm enough with a soft pillow top, fine cotton sheets and down like pillows. The interior design is natural, but tasteful with some walls painted pale green, others taupe. There is a plasma T.V., air conditioning unit, sink, dishes for 4, small referigerator, coffee maker. There was half and half and ground coffee in the room. Robes and plenty of towels were provided. The enclosed porch has nice furniture and a ceiling fan. There is another large ceiling fan in the cottage. We hated to leave.....it was a very special place to stay. There was no maid service, but we just pulled the comforter up to make the bed.
